These tomatoes were delivered on a day when the outside temperature was about 67 degrees F. And I believe I was the fourth delivery on that driver’s route that day.
Even so, when the tomatoes arrived, they were quite cold, and had obviously been thoroughly refrigerated (at Amazon, not in the driver’s vehicle).
I only point this out because the received wisdom regarding the storage of fresh tomatoes is that they should never be refrigerated, but rather kept at room temperature. Refrigeration undermines their flavor.
I understand that such a practice, if followed, would pose lots of practical (and probably costly) shelf-life problems for Amazon. I’m just pointing out the reality of the situation.
Aside from that, the tomatoes arrived in good condition, and have survived four days so far as I slowly use them. (But I will finish them off today. I think they’d be subpar on day five.)
And the flavor has been acceptable, but not spectacular. (And, no, I wasn’t expecting spectacular!)
Just sayin’!

I enjoy tomatoes and these were perfect. Plump and very tasty. I ordered a delivery from them of different foods and was pleasantly impressed.

I don’t usually buy fresh produce from Amazon Fresh (I prefer to pick these out myself). But last time I bought these they were great. Deep red, none of that white flesh inside from greenhouses, juicy, and sun-kissed flavor. I almost felt bad I was just using them for some turkey sandwiches!

Good flavor but use them quickly. I have purchased these several times and they don’t last long, sometimes arriving already splitting and molding

I think the wrap causes rotting or makes it hard to see for shopper. Not the first time this happened

These Fresh On the Vine tomatoes arrived in excellent condition, no spots, skin breaks or mold as some other reviewers have experienced. All tomatoes were attached to their vine, they are a vibrant red and just firm enough to the touch. I used a few of them yesterday in BLT sandwiches and they were jucy and delicious. Fresh tomatoes should never be put into the refrigerator as this will render them mealy and tasteless. I’m very pleased with this purchase and look forward to buying and enjoying these again.
