I use the Skallops as chicken in dishes and they absorb flavors very well. In the photos I made them as a teriyaki dish. In extra virgin olive oil, I sautéed fresh garlic, onions, red peppers, green peppers, shredded carrots, cabbage and cashews. Then added the Skallops which I had ripped up into smaller pieces. I find the texture to be better that way. I drizzled some Yoshida’s teriyaki sauce/marinade over the stir fry. Then added just a little bit of sesame oil for taste. I like adding a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for some heat. I also like having the (bagged) sweet kale mix salad with poppy seed dressing on the side….. just in case anybody would like to prepare this the way I did. It’s really really good! (Just be sure not to overdo it with the teriyaki because I did that the first time and it was too sweet and saucy.)
I definitely recommend the Skallops. It’s fun experimenting different dishes with them! There’s enough in the can for a few meals so it’s worth the money.

Atlantic natural foods needs to sell this company to someone who knows what they are doing! Cans are all smaller then when Loma Linda and Worthington owned it. They jacked the price up and made the portions smaller and changed the recipe on many of the products. They screwed up a good thing! The little tiny baby food Cans came dented!

This product has become ridiculously expensive, and although Amazon prices are also high, I haven’t found a better price elsewhere.

I’ve used this product for years and years, no complaints at all. The cans are packed in a plastic bag and arrive badly dented. Not sure about the thought process behind this.

This is a wonderful and delicious product — the only downside is the relative expense but I consider it worth it!

Let me start by saying that the “Skallops” are great. They are nothing like fish, but a chewy, neutral-flavored, low calorie, non-brown protein substitute. They come in ‘strips,’ but you can chop them into chunks or even mince. I love them!
Which is why I’ve been buying them from Amazon long enough to see them climb from $.28 per ounce in April, 2021 to the current .40 or so per ounce today, a bit more than 2 years later. Loma Linda has tried to hide this by changing the can size from 20 ounces to 15 ounces–no one likes that kind of deception. (Although the 25% drop in contents has only meant a 10% drop in calories–go figure!!)
I’m sure they’ve had increased costs for ingredients and shipping, but the price increase is like 35% inflation. That seemslike price gouging!
