These berries have a really nice texture and flavor. They have their slightly sour but complex flavor that are good as a snack or added to cookies( cut up) or other baked goods. Just writing about them makes me want to go grab a few out of the bag. Bye

I was looking for a chutney recipe for these Incan – Golden – Berries when I found a description that said these are like the sour Skittles. Yes, these are almost beyond sour. They are definitely nothing that my family will eat alone. However, in salads or as part of a trail mix, they’re okay. I am going to make a fruit chutney, with these I think, as I always need a tart fruit to balance.
I’m sure these Incan Berries have a lot of vitamins simply by the overwhelming sour flavor. I wish they were a bit sweeter, but we’ll use them as-is.

A lot of people compare the Inca Berry aka Golden Berry to a starburst candy. Though that is not necessarily a negative comparison, I believe that it doesn’t do this little power house of flavor justice. In my opinion this berry is more akin to a tiny dried Turkish apricot with the tart volume turned up to 10, which I much prefer to the sugar laden candy it is often compared to. Don’t get me wrong, I have a sweet tooth but I do not miss the lack of added sugars in this wonderful product sold by Wilderness Poets. I plan on mixing these with no sugar added tart montmorency cherries and dried pluots for healthy super food snack packs that can tackle any sweet tooth attack.

The Wilderness Poets Incan Berries is a tasty snack that makes a good alternative to eating bags of sour gummy candies. Incan Berries are essentially cape gooseberries (also known as husk cherries or ground cherries). The dried fruits have the texture of a raisin and are sweet with a distinctively sour kick. The fruits are fresh and have a pleasant chew to them – I find that they are a bit too tart to eat by the handful, but are fantastic when mixed with nuts in a trail mix. The texture is drier than dates or prunes but is slightly moister than raisins. Overall, it’s a uniquely sweet, tart, and sour dried fruit that’s worth trying out.

I am a fan of golden berries and have tried other brands. Wilderness poets is the best overall value of the brands I have tried. These are organic, loaded with flavor, raw, juicy and loaded with nutrition. Give them a try.

Normally I order Nativas brand because it’s on subscribe and save, but these are lots better! They are softer and fresher tasting. Yes, they are certainly not very sweet, but I am now addicted to them. My toddler has also started acquiring the taste for them and asks for them even though it does take him quite a while to chew one. 🙂

Very different and sour taste but very good in quality and texture.

I have been wanting to try golden berries and the quality of these organic fruits is first rate. The berries are a bit tart and would be perfect in a trail mix or cut up in baked goods. However, while I do feel that these should be more expensive than the norm since these berries are clearly made with care. I still do find them a bit pricey.

I love these! They have the consistency of a dried strawberry but tart like a Kiwi.
Not necessarily exactly but close( ish) lol!
I’ve been purchasing from this company for several months for cranberries too and all the products I’ve received tastes amazing.

I love these mixed with my raw nuts & seeds. That bit of tartness with protein is excellent. This company is trustworthy.
