It is hard to find commercially grown cranberries without pesticides. And from what I can gather, cranberries are one of the fruits with the largest amounts used. Our family tries to eat a variety of berries as a part of our diet. We rotate between blueberries, strawberries and cranberries, eating what is in season fresh when we can. These cranberries taste great, although I would not mind if they were a little less sweet. Each pouch claims to contain three 1/4 cup servings, but we usually get four out of a pouch. On subscribe and save, they are about 66 cents a serving.

I’ve gotten these a few times so far. 2 of the packages in the last shipment contained ones that seemed stale and were much harder than the other packages of cranberries. While I love the taste of these cranberries compared to other organic ones, I’ve also gotten 2-3 bags that tasted rather plasticy.

I bought these to use in my cranberry oatmeal macadamia nut cookies. They worked great! The only thing I’m not thrilled with is all the sugar! In the cookies, I reduced the sugar to cope with the sugary cranberries. They are great otherwise and love that they’re organic.

Excellent product, fantastic flavor. I have tried many brands of dried cranberry and these are the best. Make a wonderful snack, good on sandwiches and only 120 cal in 1/4 cup. I received them today and can’t wait to try them in cooking.! Worth the price!
Also sweetened with organic cane sugar, 26 g per serving, not bad for something that tastes so good.?

Original Review Summer 2008 (original review was no longer attached to item):
These are by far the plumpest, juiciest dried cranberries that I have ever tasted. Yes, there is a smidgen of sugar and sunflower oil but I have yet to see any dried cranberries without those added. I love to toss a handful into cereal–hot or cold–for an added taste treat.
Incidentally, these are 6 4-ounce bags of the tasty treats.
Update: I’ve reduced the number of stars as I have a new favorite Oskri Cranberries, Dried, 3.53 Ounce Bags (Pack of 12) and my choice of 4 stars may be confusing to some.
When comparing the two dried cranberries, side-by-side, the Oskri are by far, the better of the two. When taking the Oskri out of the equation and comparing the Newman’s Own cranberries to other brands out there, then Newman’s Own stands above the rest.
If, what you are looking for is a replacement for all of the varieties out there in the marketplace, then Newman’s Own are for you. If you are looking for a fabulous dried cranberry fit for just munching, then reach for the Oskri.
I actually like to keep both brands on hand. There are times, when I am baking, that the Newman’s Own Cranberries are my preferred cranberry. If I am substituting cranberries for raisins in a recipe, then odds are that I will choose the Newman’s Own over the Oskri. If I am baking something where the cranberry is the centerpiece, then I choose the Oskri.
Your mileage may vary.

We use these in salads. When we opened the second bag the cranberries were all whitish in color and spoiled. Terrible short expiration dates for all packages. If they are sold in 6 packs should have more than a few months for expirations. Would not take back. Very disappointing and waste of money. Best to find a store that sells one bag at a time

The product description was unclear. I was looking for JUST cranberries, not dried or processed cranberries. Nowhere in the description of pictures does it mention these 4-ounce packets are DRIED cranberries. I’d been looking forward to making a smoothie… dried cranberries won’t work.
Aside from the product description, the product was tasty and I appreciate that its organic. Slightly over-priced, however, compared to what I can get locally.

First off, I can say that I am partial to the brand of Newman’s Own. without even realizing it, I have multiple products of theirs for me and my dogs. anyway, these are my second choice in dried cranberries, but that doesn’t take away from the rating to me. my first choice of dried cranberries was a brand that sweetened them with apples, and they were to me the most tastiest ever. but they jacked the price up and made them no longer available for subscribe and save… so i couldn’t find any other good cranberries that are organic, and sweetened with apples and not expensive and available for S&S, so Newman’s Own is the next best thing. they taste a little sweeter than what I was used to, but its cool, I got used to it. I typically just munch on these throughout the day, i also throw them in my cereals, salads and homemade fruit smoothies.

The reviews for these dried cranberries are glowing, so my response may be a matter of taste. I found these cranberries to be a little bitter and somewhat oily, instead of having the “tang” that cranberries usually have. I prefer dried cranberries that I have purchased elsewhere, different brands.
