I was concerned about the pump from the reviews. I did read one review that said if you just push down hard on the collar of the pump it will go on and not try to screw it on. They were right! I have a bad shoulder but I was able to push it on after the 2nd try. I was so happy to make it work. The company really should have directions for the pump so they don’t get so many dissatisfied people and returns unnecessarily. The product is thin so when you dispense you need to be careful. I just started using it so i don’t have a long term assessment yet about the oil but it does feel nice and light. I am hopeful it will be nice and healthy for my older skin. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

The oil itself is nice. It doesn’t smell and works miracles for the skin and hair. The reason I give it 4* instead of dive is the pump, it pums too much. I have to put it in another bottle and use it from there, otherwise everything around me is coveted in coconut oil

I have purchased this twice now. I wanted a more holistic approach to skin and nail care. I stopped going to the salon for nail care. I have been using this on my toe and fingernails for almost a year. The nails are bright and clear, no marks or fungus. It was a slow healing process over months. the cuticles and nails are well hydrated and not pealing. This all was. a pleasant surprise. I actually purchased it as a body moisturizer. It works wonderful for that! I live in a dry climate, and it is really helpful. Coconut oil is not as viscous as other oils. I put a small plate under it to catch any spills or drips. It takes almost a year for me to use a full bottle.

But if you happen to have a troubled, sensitive scalp, then you might want to beware. Here’s the issue: my girlfriend has an itchy scalp, and she washes it every other day… by the 2nd day, the smell of her scalp’s natural scent blended with this unscented Coconut oil — it actually had a foul odor! I know it sounds odd: how could unscented oil cause this to happen? It might be the way the oil interacted with the “chemistry” of her scalp.
It also depends on the porosity of your hair. Her scalp and hair do not absorb most oils. Jojoba oil tends to work better for her hair. Coconut oil stays on the surface. The scalp is less itchy, but stays quite oily.
If your scalp is normal, and you wash your hair daily, you might be fine with this oil on your scalp.
