I recently read about compostable bags, and looked into them. As soon as my ordinary bags were running low I ordered two different brands I could not tell apart from their descriptions. Both are 1.1 mils thick, and very nice bags. I’ve used 3-4 bags of each so far, and love them. They are as good as the non-compostable bags I replaced, and they have a bonus – they are not static clingy – the bag opens up easily, no clinging in the trash can.

These bags are truly compostable, and it’s what we use for the millions of leaves that fall each autumn. They are not sturdy enough to contain twigs or small branches. If they are not filled too full, they will hold together well. Otherwise they may split open. Lift from the bottom of the bag, no grabbing the top. They are not like heavy plastic, but they are biodegradable which is what was needed. We’ve used these for three years now. Our waste management company is happy with them. So are we.

Really trying to use less plastic for all the obvious reasons. These bags work just as good as the plastic Hefty Bags that our family used to use. I was glad that these Compostable Bags were thick enough not to tear as I pulled the bag out of the trash can and feel good about doing something better for the environment. They do cost more however, but am going to try to do a better job of compacting trash so that I use fewer bags to start with.

Your bag is expensive but so are your competitors‘s. I was a little worried that maybe they would not be thick enough or would begin to leak before I put them outside. I know the bags themselves begin to compost, and I’ve had this problem with the smaller bags, that they start to leak. I have been using them in the house, because we do a lot of raw food preparation, so we generate a large quantity of debris. I wish there were an intermediate size of the same thickness. I also wish that there were a kitchen compost bin on wheels that could be moved around to and from a work area. I don’t know if you work with people who manufacture such things but it’s an idea.

These bags rip easy but if you don’t over fill them they work fine. The plus is they are compostable and will fit inside a 32 gallon garbage can for easy filling. The heavey paper bags are a pain and when they get wet waiting on the garbage pickup worse. Our pick up service requires all clippings to be bagged so this is the best solution for me.

These bags are trash, literally. I’ve tried a dozen ways to make use of them, but whether using as a liner or trying to fill empty, the top of the bag tears when stretched just enough to open. If using them as a liner, if they are filled even halfway they won’t come out without tearing at the rim and around the bottom. The only way to make use of these is to use twice the amount of bags needed because they don’t have the strength for a full load. Buying these at Home Depot from now on where I can at least be somewhat assured that I’m not getting a lemon.

These work great. I use them in a big trash can for my daughters birthday party and they held up well, even with all those people using it. I forgot to put out the compost so had this sitting in my compost bin for over a week and the bag did not completely fall apart which was a pleasant surprise! Other compostable bags i have used in the past start to denigrate after a day or two.

Received these about a week ago. Only used once so far. Transferred all of our compost that we keep in our freezer into this bag to place outside for pick up. The bag did not rip like the compost bags we had before. Haven’t used them as a liner for our outdoor bin yet so I’m not yet sure how it holds up for an entire week. But for carrying a lot of weight—it held up! So far, no complaints at all. We’re very happy with these.

I love these bags! A couple years ago we started curb side pickup of food waste on our recycling day. The county provided our choice of a green bin which we are allowed to put food scraps and yard waste either right in the bin or in a compostable bag in the bin. I chose the smaller container which is about the size of my regular kitchen trashcan. But up till now the largest compostable bag I could find was 13 gallons which were much too small to efficiently secure in the bin. So I had them hanging by a big rubber band but it took a lot of effort to get the food into the bin without dropping it. These 33 gallon bags are wonderful. I fits nicely in the bin and I do have it secured with a large rubber band. Now it’s very easy to get the food into the bin.
