This is the fastest Amazon review I’ve ever written. This pen worked easily right out of the box on both a 6th generation iPad and a 4th generation iPad Pro. It is lightweight and comfortable, and it feels better in my hand than the actual Apple pencils do. It will substitute for both a 1st gen and 2nd gen iPad pencil, and I am thrilled to have one writing tool that works on both my iPads.
I tried it out on several handwriting apps. When you are using it in Scribble mode, it does all the iPencil functions perfectly and quickly. In Notability the eraser mode is a little slow, so the lasso/cut tool is better for bigger blocks of erasing. It does not work with LiquidText. I have screen protectors on both tablets and it works with those fine.
The tap on/off at the top of the pencil is intuitive and easy. It magnetically attaches to the iPad Pro securely. It does magnetically attach to the older iPads, but not as well because their edges are sloped and not square, so that doesn’t help much. The only thing left to tell is how much writing time I will get from a full charge. But I am extremely happy about this and will probably buy at least 1 or 2 more.

So far, I am very impressed by this product. Incredible price, incredibly easy to set up (just need to turn it on and adjust the Apple pencil settings on the ipad). Been using it to take notes, write emails, sketch… Eliminated the need for me to carry my ipad keyboard. Can’t compare it to the much more expensive Apple pen but I can’t imagine it having enough additional features to justify paying $70+ more for it.

I bought this after my Apple Pencil broke and I was waiting for my new one to ship. It is really good for a backup pencil for note taking and simple drawing edits. It connects automatically, charges quickly, and holds its charge well. It felt almost exactly the same as an apple pencil in hand and worked well enough that I forgot that it wasn’t when not using it for drawing. The lack of pressure sensitivity keeps it from being a true replacement for me, but I knew that going in. I was also a little disappointed that other apple pencil replacement nibs and silicon nib protectors don’t work well with as I like to use a slightly textured nib for drawing. Still, it came with two replacements made specifically for it and they work perfectly well if you are content with the original smooth, hard plastic nibs.

I use this for note taking, writing, clinical notes. I’ve never used it for drawing so I can’t speak on that. My only issue? I’ve had to change the cap a couple times, they seem to wear down quick, and the small rubber piece you remove for charging? I can’t keep up w them so I have nothing in the charger port. It’s full of dust or debris now and I’m having issues w charging. But when I get it charged it’ll last forever! Overall not a bad purchase, I did get my moneys worth.

I have an iPad 8th gen with a paper-like-feel screen protector and use this pen to write all my notes (within the notability app) and it is AMAZING! I bought this pen 8 months ago, and I just ran down the first tip (to be fair I didn’t have class during summer, but I did use it, just not as much). It came with two extra tips (THANK YOU METAPEN!) a short TYPE C cord, and a cute little package that stores everything neatly. The battery life is great, and I can go days without charging it. On occasion, the pen only works if I use one side of the tip and not another, and have no idea why that happens, it’s not a huge deal as it doesn’t necessarily impede note-taking for more than a split second here and there, but it would be nice if that was corrected (maybe it’s a sensor issue or something within the pen, IDK)
One suggestion for users:
Once you wear down the plastic nib and the metal tip is slightly visible, change the tip immediately, even if it’s not completely worn out on all sides. I tried to use the unworn side, and the exposed metal tip still managed to scratch my screen protector deeply. Luckily, I realized quickly and changed tips before more damage was done to the screen protector. I especially warn those who do not use screen protectors on their tablets.
I have two suggestions for the manufacturer:
1: I am aware that the newer version of this pen (Metapen A11) includes a battery life light indicator and has a tap-to-erase feature along with new pen gestures, but they only work if using Goodnotes or Procreate. I suggest that you add Notability to the list of compatible apps! I have been looking for a pen with all those features to facilitate better note-taking, but unfortunately, I do not use either of the compatible apps, and they are too expensive and too much of a hassle to find a way to transfer two years of notes and work to another app. Thank
2: please release ultra-fine pen-like tips (like a 0.38 mm size)! That would be a magnificent addition to this pen, especially for those of us who use iPads to draw/paint and require ultra-fine precision tips or just really like that extra precision with writing. That would blow all other similar pens on the market out of the water! (I am aware that there are “universal” tips like the ones I am suggesting, but after purchasing several brands, none have been successfully compatible with this pencil as they are made with the original Apple Pencil in mind.)
Overall, I recommend these to everyone I know or asks, and I will be purchasing a new one in all black to change up the look a little. This is an awesome product, worth every cent of its affordable price!

Absolutely amazing! I don’t have an Apple Pencil, but I imagine this could easily be better. Perfect weight and diameter – feels like an actual pencil. There was no need to pair with iPad. I literally just tapped the top of the pencil 2x, it powered on & just worked beautifully. No lag, no skipping when writing.
I have a Logitech crayon, and like it but the battery is terrible. This has a slightly more “fine/pointy” tip, which makes it feel better when writing. I’m not sure of the battery, as I haven’t used it for a longgg time. But I have used it for the amount of time my other typically runs out of charge, and this didn’t.
Also, if you’re wondering as I was… my iPad case has a magnetic Apple Pencil slot on the side, & it does fit there and holds perfectly!
OH! I don’t remember seeing this in the description, but it came with 2 extra tips! That was a surprise to me.
I love it. I’d 100% recommend it. I’d 100% buy it again if I needed to for whatever reason. I honestly have not a single criticism or complaint about it.

I wanted to have a tool without spending too much. This is cute and works well. The pencil is a nice weight. It does attach magnetically to my iPad 10. It’s worth the price.

Love this pen! The price is affordable and it works very well with an Ipad. The charge lasts a decent amount and it charges quickly anyways. Easy to use.

I cannot compare it to an actual apple pen, however, I can tell you that this pen is amazing! Zero install, super easy to use. Battery life is great. Its inexpensive too. Zero complaints. Also comes with extra tips! Will definitely purchase this pen in the future when needed.

I could not find anything it would not work well with – except a few music apps that I’m assuming most people won’t be using.
Actually, there are occasions that I found it BETTER than what it’s cloning – more accurate.
