Ever since Whole Foods recently changed the label on their Allegro coffees to the “store brand” moniker, the product has not been the same despite the insistence to the contrary, and the changes are especially noticeable in the Decaf French roast.. it tastes like sour sumatra beans. Found this brand of coffee via a search through a number of brands for a decent replacement for that much-missed decaf dark roast and am impressed. This product tastes as good as the caffeinated coffees.. great flavor with wonderful cocoa undertones and crisp somewhat smoky top notes and a lot of body in the middle (we make our coffee in a pour over flask) – classic French Roast coffee. Added bonus is the generous-weight bags it is sold in! At our end of things the search is over, subscription delivery set up.

Let me start by saying I drink my coffee with cream and sugar, so the taste varies slightly from cup-to-cup, but the overall flavor is good. My only complaint is that there are no notes on the bag to indicate how much you should use per cup, so I guess they leave it up to the consumer.

If you’re looking for smooth tasting coffee that makes your whole house smell like roasted hazelnuts, look no further. My boyfriend hates the taste of coffee but after trying this, he has joined the coffee club.
