Excellent hot sauce—highly recommend!
I purchased this after reading the whole sordid story about this farm and Huy Fong (original sriracha brand). I think I jumped on the sriracha fan club train after they had switched sources so never knew the OG heat. Other brands’ take on the magic sauce has fallen far short of the original’s flavor but this one is SPOT ON. And has the heat that the OG no longer does. Consider me a convert! The only gripe I have is the price. But knowing that I’ll never have to suffer another random shortage of my favorite condiment due to an owner’s poor business practices gives me great peace of mind.

I am Vietnamese, and a lover of sriracha by nature. This has that heat that is now missing from the OG sriracha. It does not however have the same taste or the same consistency. This is more like if the peppers that used to make sriracha had a baby with tabasco sauce, or franks red hot. The flavor is too acidic but the heat is there. I now just take this and mix it into my original bottle, or mix it with the OG and Kewpie to make the best spicy mayo. You can tell the peppers are THE peppers but the recipe is something a little different! Either way, it’s alright in its own right, I’m just not so much for the acidic hot sauces, my fiancé loves it as is (he’s Italian so I guess I will let it slide) but the peppers THEY are the star of the show here.

This is the real deal macoy plus what we have grown to know and love. From the moment you open the box and see that dark red color you realize that the current shelf stock sriracha sauce is in fact not the same color. The chili’s being used in the “Sriracha” branded are not what it once was, they are getting the chili’s from various farms in Mexico. Normally not an issue but the chili’s in “Sriracha” are specific to a soil type in the US and anything else will be different. Look up the history and story about what transpired between the Sriracha manufacturer (who is currently not selling sauce due to discoloration) and the farmer (who is selling this sauce).

This tastes like what Huy Fong Sriracha used to taste like but better. The pepper flavor is bright and the garlic flavor is spot on. The extra kick at the end is amazing. We always have Huy Fong Sriracha in the fridge but didn’t like the new batches after the whole legal debacle with Underwood. Decided to give the original pepper farm a try and we’re definitely not going back. The flavor is so amazing that Huy Fong definitely regrets messing around with their pepper supplier.

If you’re not aware of the family feud that’s swirling around the “original Sriracha”, grab some popcorn and a beverage of your choice, and look it up… it’s a wild ride!
After searching out the “original with the green cap” version of this product, I was noticing – it’s not what it used to be… the heat was missing, and it didn’t taste as good… I was aware there was a shortage – hence the absurd prices – but I didn’t know the rest of the story… (again – look it up… it’s crazy).
Once I knew the story – I decided to search out “the other Sriracha”… and I was able to find this Underwood Farms version. Now – I’ve heard some people say “this isn’t as good as the original”… but – the fact is – the “original” isn’t as good as the original anymore… so while these two families are feuding, we either have to go without (NNNOOOOO!!!!), or we have to choose a side. UGH!
Well… after tasting this… I’m walking across the pepper field and choosing Underwood. Simple as that. This sauce brings the flavor, it brings the heat… and – to the best of my recollection – it’s basically the same as the old glorious original used to be… (my personal opinion based on having to remember the original sauce)
And what’s more – this sauce is FAR superior to any of the other “pretenders to the throne”. So all I can say here is: Hello new favorite! I’m glad I found you!!
… final note – DEFINITELY get the two-bottle pack… you’ll want it… for CERTAIN!!

I have been consuming Huy Fong Sriracha for decades, WAY before it became a thing. I was mad when the supply ran dry, as I had just used the last of my bottle. So, I was thrilled when it finally came back. However, that was short lived, as the flavor was VERY noticeably different and really no heat. I told myself, “well, this is the new Sriracha, I will have to live with it”. Then I read an article about Dragon Sauce and who they were, so I gave them a chance.
The first taste test, I noticed there was a little bit more vinegar on the back end. The flavor was very close, there was that familiar twang. And the heat, OMG, very nice.
So, I eat my fair share of Ramen noodles (The Oriental market ones, not the grocery store ones) and with the new Sriracha, I was having to really lair it on thick, but there really wasn’t that much flavor or heat in my soup. Now, Dragon Sauce, I put a third of the amount of the new Sriracha and it put a sweat on me, and I love and grew up on spicy food. And I had a very flavorful soup.
Huy Fong Sriracha has lost it’s number one spot in my household. Now, Dragon Sauce say it is “Limited Edition”. I hope they can / will stick around. Yes, it is more expensive, but if they stay around, hopefully the price will come down.

Okay so I’ve been following the huy fong and underwood ranches mess, if you haven’t, you should go read about what the huy fong company did. Short of it is Huy Fong messed around and found out. As a ranch hand and farmer of many years, (I don’t know any of these farmers, btw, I’m on an entirely different coast and didn’t know about any of this until I heard about the court cases) I don’t support companies who try to deliberately f over farmers- especially because they’d be nothing without them. So doing digging, I didn’t want to support huy fong anymore (their new product without these peppers is not even good, btw- they messed their own product up doing this). Then I found out underwood ranches- the original pepper supplier- had their own sauce. More money than huy fong but that’s a non issue, since I would rather my money go directly to farmers and it’s a vastly superior product. AND LET ME TELL YOU, IT IS SUPERIOR! We are talking better than the first sriracha from huy fong, probably because underwood ranches cares a LOT more about their peppers and process. I am in love with this stuff. It was SO worth ordering, so worth the money. Absolutely packed with delicious pepper flavor and has a nice kick. Absolutely delicious, so so good. I will never buy another sriracha again, so they better keep making this! As other reviews said, it doesn’t have that slight garlic hit that the previous one did- but they DO have a version with garlic if you look. This is genuinely a better product and underwood ranches deserves so much praise for it. I’d love to shake these farmers hands. Please never stop selling this stuff, underwood ranches!
Also if you love these folks peppers like I do, their site has a bunch more sauces on it! I’m going to attempt to try them all at some point. 10/10, no notes, thank you underwood ranches for filling that hole crappy sriracha left in my hot sauce loving life with your top quality sriracha!!

While it does not taste exactly like the sauce that used to use the peppers that now make this sauce – it is a very good flavor and should give the Rooster Sauce (the Huy Fong) a run for its money.
This sauce has a good heat and flavor to it.

We heard the whole store of the original (Huy Found Foods?) sirracha and how they did a farmer dirty; and have noticed the flavor to be off and it not to be as spicy over time. Also to find out they switched ranches that supply their peppers! So, when we found out that THIS IS the ranch that originally supplied the peppers, we decided to order it and try it.
After tasting this one, I will never go back. It’s slightly less sweet than the original, (We like that), And it has the same flavor and heat. This is awesome!!! In my opinion, it is the best version I’ve found on the market and worth trying for your self. You will not be disappointed!

I ordered this a couple of weeks ago and received it about a week ago. OMG this stuff is amazing even better than the original Sriracha. It’s not quite as sweet, but I believe it’s more flavorful. And when they say hot chili sauce, they are not kidding. It is very warm to the pallet but so flavorful. Haven’t tried the garlic chili sauce yet, but I’m sure it will be amazing as well.
