Fourth and Heart’s grass-fed ghee is very lightly salted and gently whipped to add flavor to just about anything. Ghee is a type of clarified butter that is heated, reduced & triple-filtered out and what you’re left with is the pure healthy fat, which is lactose free & dairy free, good for digestion and metabolism. It is an iconic ingredient and food staple with a history as rich as its taste. It originates in India and is used extensively in cooking and to promote health. Ghee alone is an excellent alternative to butter for those who are lactose intolerant and who want the taste of butter, without the disadvantages of processed margarines. Unlike other oils it is rich in butyric acid, a short chain fatty acid that is great for your overall health and digestion. Ghee’s buttery taste and high smoke point (485 degrees) makes it an excellent addition to your everyday cooking oils, is extremely easy to cook with and delicious simply spread on a piece of toast. Fourth & Heart grass-fed ghee uses the highest quality grass-fed butter sourced from a cooperative of farms in New Zealand. Grass is naturally high in Vitamin A, D, E, K and CLA. When the cow’s milk is rich with these vitamins it goes directly to the butter and therefor the ghee. Replace your everyday butter & oil with 100% Grass-Fed Pure Spreadable Butter. Please note: ghee naturally melts at approximately 90-degrees farenheit, which can occur during transit and delivery. This is perfectly normal and will not damage the ghee, which will resolidify if left at room temperature or refrigerated for 2-3 hours. I just bought a quarterly supply of this product. The taste, consistency and shelf life is fantastic. Better that other brands i have tried. I use it to cook and half a tea spoon to my smoothies in the morning.

Pro: I have tried several jars of this organic ghee with Himalayan pink salt and the flavor is especially tasty for popcorn, sauteing eggs any style or potatoes, and I love the glass jar, even though it’s more expensive! It’s also more expensive to ship than those plastic jars so I get that. I think it’s healthier and even the lid is some type of metal instead of plastic and doesn’t leak or crack. I used to enjoy the creamy texture and rated it 5 stars. The first two jars were lovely. The company has great customer service if there’s a problem with your order in spite of it being a food product.
Con: Now the problem is less product in the jar, huge crevices top to bottom, making it even more expensive due to missing product. The texture is still smooth and creamy in that instance, so that was good. However, with this order I received an hour ago, the ghee butter has separated to thicker ghee on the bottom, and liquid oil floating on the top half. Plus, it’s short by at least an inch in spite of it having melted where it used to be filled to the rim. Obviously you can’t ‘spread’ liquid butter and oil and even when I’ve mixed it together and refrigerated it until it becomes a solid again, as soon as it starts to soften to spread it on toast it will still revert back to half solid and half liquid! I don’t know why it’s changed as the original ghee butter is still a good product and easily spreadable. Perhaps it’s because the salt causes this? The garlic version has also changed from creamy to a granulated texture compared to what I used to receive. All of these were in glass jars and the temperature doesn’t seem to make much difference. Perhaps the cows are being sourced from somewhere else now? I’ve dropped this from a 5 star rating to 3 stars for this reason. If the company returns to its’ former glorious product line I’ll update it again.

I just used this Ghee for the first time, rather first time using any Ghee.
It’s pretty easy to use in place of butter and oils. It has a high smoke point, which is ideal.
I tried it in the stainless steel pan for my scrambled eggs (today with some burger mixed in). It came out very nicely and with less sticking than with anything I’ve used so for. The pan easily came out clean in the end.
I’ll be using this in place of my olive oil and avocado oil for the pan. I’m curious to see how it will work, using it in the Ninja Foodi Smart Grill for steaks, burgers and such. But anyway, I’m pleased with my purchase so far. I’ll be getting more, after I use up the container of this Ghee!
