Ethylene Gas is unsaturated hydrocarbon, odorless and colorless gas that is released from fruits, vegetables and floral products to promote the ripening process and further aging activity. Certain fruits and vegetables release much ethylene gas, and are very sensitive so that they mature quicker and become perishable when kept exposed in ethylene gas environment. Delays process of decay, discoloration, and wilting (Place packets in refrigerator drawers or where produce is stored.)

I live alone, and I love fruit, so I keep a lot of fruit on hand. I throw two of these in with my apples and pears (unrefrigerated) and they stay fresh for 2 weeks. Bananas, however, not so good. My strawberries, blueberries, grapes, and spinach stay fresh for 10-12 days! I was hesitant to try these, but buy them! You won’t regret it!

I had bought a brand of absorbers that look like an apple. The replacement absorbers were too expensive so I found these. They work great. I put one on top of my strawberries in the fridge and they will last over a week. I also put a few of them in my fruit and vegetable drawers in the fridge. They keep my produce fresh much longer than normal.

I couldn’t tell they made any difference.
I was hoping they would help with keeping my bananas fresh, but honestly I couldn’t tell any difference.
They came in a bag with no instructions.. Maybe if I knew how to use them it would have helped??

I was amazed at how much longer my bananas kept. Even after seven days, they were still firm! Very impressed!

Easier to wrap the tops with aluminum foil

I have placed these in my fruit & vegetable drawers. I truly believe these are extending the life and preventing mold. I always purchase lemons, mandarins & apples in quantity from Costco and they never seemed to last. I do try to keep the apples separated from the citrus & salad greens. I have definitely noticed an improvement since using these. I also place a packet with any fruit or vegetable that is not in the drawers.

I think it helped both oranges and apples stay fresher. Not so sure about lettuce in the other fridge drawer.

I only ordered these when the Fresh paper I usually subscribe to was out of stock and Amazon recommended this product instead. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to that paper stuff… these little packets WORK! The produce in my fridge now lasts literally weeks. I bought some baby portabellas and put one of these fresh packets inside the plastic container they came in, and they stayed fresh for THREE WEEKS! If you buy mushrooms a lot, you know that’s impressive! I will continue to use these, they are wonderful!

I had my doubts but thought worth a try. Living alone I go through things more slowly that a couple or family. I buy bagged lettuce two or three at a time and usually one or more goes bad before I make use of them. I put two of these in the bottom bin of my refrigerator and so far have been pleasantly surprised at how well they work. I have not had any of the lettuce go bad in the month using these. Next time I will try one packet in each bottom bin. Other bin has fruit, mostly bananas and while the skins turn bit icky I remove and leave out a day before using (eliminates hardness) and find that inside they are just fine. Again this does seem to be working.
