5 strands of clear 17mm collagen casings for homemade snack stick or slim sausages. Easy to use. Each strand will fill approx 4.5 lbs of meat. Total package yield is approx 23 lbs of sausage. These casings are from permeable for slow smoking or oven cooking before eating or freezing. 17mm casings will REQUIRE the thin 3/8″ (10mm) stuffer tube. The casings worked well but they won’t slide over a 3/8″ tube as they are. You have to feed them little by little over the tube which does not allow the entire casing sleeve to be put on the tube. Kind of a pain as you have to stop and add more casing from time to time. Other than that, they worked well and the sausage was well liked.

Was surprised that it doesn’t slide on nozzles of stuffers. Could only put a little on at a time. Every tube started to tear as you got to middle of casing tube.. Not sure I will use them again, may just stick with hog casings.

At first I was worried about them being kind of plastic. But after sausage cured and smoker hit them they seemed to think out very Good..
