The texture is a little off

It smelled and tasted very fishy–stinky tuna taste with a hint of salmon. Not edible. There was NO lobster to be found in this spread, or even the taste of lobster. VERY disappointed; it was a Christmas gift. Thankfully our money has been refunded–and they said no need to send back the remaining 5 unopened boxes! (they went straight in the garbage can)

I removed the liquid it was packed into. The salmon was flaky and had a nice flavor. I ate it with crackers. It was moist. Yum!

For some reason, I thought this salmon spread would have a cheese like consistency, but no such luck.

It was the “chipotle” in the name that grabbed my attention. Unfortunately, I was unable to detect any such flavoring in this mild and boring spread. I don’t know if I didn’t read the description closely enough or if the information was not revealed on the website, but I was also disappointed to learn that cream cheese is one of the ingredients. I thought this was both over-priced and under-spiced and would not recommend purchasing it.

When my store seemed unable to get Philadelphia Smoked Salmon Spread Cream Cheese in, I decided to try this in hopes of finding a suitable alternative option. I *love* the Philadelphia spread I was seeking since I put it on a 1/2 bagel with a slice of lox (thin-sliced smoked salmon) for breakfast every morning. I tried a can of this. It was *so* not what I was hoping to try, so I was very disappointed. But again, those are *my* tastebuds. I gave 3 cans to a friend of mine whose tastebuds tend to be like mine–and yet he will give some things a try where I won’t. If he liked them, I’ll give him the remaining 2 cans. If not, I honestly don’t know what I’ll do with them. I struggled through the first can enough to know it would feel like a punishment for my personally making a poor choice in hoping it would be anything close to what I was looking to use as a substitute. Please do *not* make your thought to try it based on my experience. You may like it. Just don’t buy it based on hopes of finding a substitute for the Philadelphia cream cheese spread. It’s not even close.

I was under the impression that I would be receiving an edible lobster spread. What I received is this foul smelling concoction that looks like cat food. Definitely does not taste like lobster has a horrible horrible consistency. I wish I could give less than one star

Overall the product has excellent salmon flavor. It’s labeled as a “spread” so, I was expecting a smoother texture than what it is. Nevertheless, after I drained off the excess liquid from the container, I did add the entire 3.5 oz to an 8 oz. package of softened cream cheese and, viola! I tossed in some finely minced capers (about 1/2 of a teaspoon), a touch more freshly minced garlic (to taste for me), and bit more dried, chipotle pepper powder and I was quite happy with the end result.
The product is also quite tasty on multigrain crackers – Milton’s are my favorite.

I ORDERED THIS SPREAD HOPING FOR THE TASTE OR FLAVOR OF LOBSTER. THE SMELL WAS LIKE CAT FOOD OR TUNA. THE COLOR AND TEXTURE WAS VERY MEALY OR GRAINY. THE TASTE WAS HORRIBLE. I SURELY WOULD LIKE A REFUND SEEING AS i DONT HAVE A CAT TO GIVE THIS LOBSTER SPREAD TO. A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY. SOMETHING SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING WITH AMAZON’S PRODUCTS OR THEY JUST DONT CARE ABOUT THE SELLERS. SHEAR GARBAGE TO SAY THE LEAST. I THINK i AM ENTITLED TO A REFUND. I SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON AMAZON AND THIS TYPE OD POOR QUALITY SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED AT ALL. SORRY DEBORAH

For me, it’s a breakfast staple with sweet coffee (Torani lavender syrup), whole grain bread, and cream cheese.
