This is absolutely the “probably made partially from sawdust” variety of parmesan cheese. The stuff you get from shakers at pizzerias. But for that style, this is a surprisingly good option. Never thought I’d be using Amazon Brand parmesan but if you’re making a NYC style pizza (for Neapolitan pies stick to the fancier parmesan) and specifically want this style, this stuff is awesome. And the price isn’t bad at all.

I ordered an 8 ounce can just to try, and man was I impressed, tangy, and you can taste the age. I just ordered two one pound jars, and for the flavor, this is the best value for hard cheese.

Mom is from Italy and I’m full Italian and can cook up a storm! I’ve got a photo of me simple to make authentic Italian sausage and crushed tomatoes red sauce that’s flavored work Parmesan cheese. This is a bold flavored cheese that is fantastic on top of your pasta, hamburgers and salads too. It didn’t take like those cheaper fake cheeses and honestly tastes AS GOOD AS or better than name brands. It actually will melt into hot sauces and cream mixtures more result than other Parmesan grated cheeses. It stores will in the refrigerator after each use and doesn’t lose quality robust flavors even after 3 weeks in the cold fridge.

I love this cheese. I usually grab it from my local store, but they were out so I figured I would try this one. I am super happy I did too as the price was a lot less expensive, yet has the same delicious taste, highly recommend.
