The ingredients are simple. The flavor is fine, I like it better then a couple of other brands I have tried. I bought a slicer designed for these type of products to make cutting easy. It is definitely a salty product, you have to be ok with knowing it’s not healthy but it will fill you up. However to know I can eat this out of the can as well as heating it up makes it a worthwhile addition to have available. The price is better than a lot of others.

Tate’s OK. Too much sodium. The picture of can on screen had 21 for sodium, but back of can had 31! Way too much salt.

I mean, yeah, it’s like Spam. I like it well enough to stock it for use when the cupboards are getting empty and it’s not like you’ll ever open a can and have it bad, even if it’s been on the shelf for, oh, 100 years. Kind of the nature of the stuff.
Only problem is, and this is happening will more and more pull top cans these days as they make packaging cheaper and cheaper, the pull tab will sometimes tear off while you are trying to open the can. This will necessitate getting more creative with a can opener or with a table knife to finish the job. It’s an occasional annoyance, not enough to not buy it. Just something to watch out for. By that I mean, take it easy pulling the tab, don’t tear into it like a starved dog or that tab may detach.

I have tried numerous different brands in the past, and in my last attempt, I finally came across Amour Star. It is tender, with just the right amount of savoriness, and very easy to open. In a matter of minutes, I have a perfect meal ready, and it’s great as a sandwich meat as well. I would recommend this to anyone.

Its a good buy, just like regular spam , a little lighter on flavor , still salty , cause it’s a salt cured meat…(why it last a long time) …so yeah good buy

Great product arrived fast and was exactly what was advertised.
Reading the reviews before buying I noticed a lot of comments about the cans being hard to open.
They’re not.
They are fairly easy opening cans actually.
Easy opening as far as square cans go that is. Which isn’t saying much
All cans of this shape have the same issue if you try to open them like the round cans rings tend to break off and can openers don’t work on them very well or at all.
If you pull up a little longer and peel the lid back a little slower they open just fine.
just takes a little practise. I feed this product to rescue dogs that need to regain weight and eat a fair bit myself so no prob for me. I doubt most people deal with square cans very often so….
Its not the Armour company’s fault and the product they make higher is quality than any of the others and its 1/2 the price.
And its in the same can made by the same can company

If you mention Spam, people turn their nose up at it. Fact is, this product is very good whether it is fried or taken right out of the can and served. One day people won’t be so picky. They will be glad to have something to eat and they will be surprised how good Spam really is.

Good quality.
Wonderful taste.

This stuff is serviceable but it’s lacking the flavor that spam has in my opinion and I also noticed it does not crisp up as well as spam does when frying. That being said it is a wholly acceptable substitute, I wouldn’t buy this over spam but if I couldn’t get spam I’d buy this (which is coincidently how I ended up with it in the first place).
