Everything I’ve ever bought from Bar Harbor is excellent. These whole clams are fully cooked and taste great out of the can. Too bad a case is quite expensive. But they’re probably the best you’ll find.

I bought these several times but the most recent order in Nov 2023 tastes very metallic. I’ll never order again – I suspect this company is doing something wrong in the canning process.

Other than Pacific Razor (surf) clams or Hokkigai Arctic (surf) clams (if/when you can get them) Bar Harbor canned clams are my go to. I’ve tried about all of the higher quality brands of canned clams and Bar Harbor stands out and stands up to most fresh clams. I’ve never yet had a sour clam in any Bar Harbor batch.

I found these after realizing most canned clams have added sugar; who knew! These are clean and great for those on keto. So many products are adulterated with sugar, great to find these have no added sugar!

OK in a clam or sea food chowder but don’t count on the clam juice to add much clam flavor. Disappointed as it was recommended by ATK.
