THIS IS A COFFEE LOVER MUST. I scanned this product on my yuka app & it rated good – meaning there isnt a ton of unwanted toxic ingredients. Super tasty and great for your coffee. The cafe downstairs’ charges $7 for a iced latte using this milk. So i copied them and got this bundle amount as soon as i found out what these fancy coffee shops r using

I was REALLY into the chai lattes at 711, Wawa, etc., and wanted to make a healthier version at home.
*I highly recommend using the Zulay Kitchen Electric Milk Frother! It’s blends EXTREMELY well, cleans easily, and you can store it out of the way on a little stand on your counter.
This recipe makes a low carb/no sugar/vegan, EASY-to-make version that is DELICIOUS (I’m not kidding, it came out even better than the store.)
Ingredients for 1 cup (can double it):
• 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (I used this Califia Farms Unsweetened Almond Barista Blend)
• 1/2 cup unsweetened oat creamer (I used Sown Unsweetened Organic Oat Creamer)
• 1/4 tsp Blue Lotus Chai powder (I used the Masala Chai version, contains only tea and spices)
• 1/4 tsp Stevia (stronger than sugar-very carefully add more or less to taste)
Heat almond milk and oat creamer in saucepan until hot. Add Chai powder and blend with frother. Pour into mug and add Stevia to taste (you only need 1/4 tsp for it to be SWEET!)
Voila!! Incredible and HEALTHY chai latte! Can also use a matcha powder instead of chai to make an equally delicious matcha latte.

I have received this on subscribe and save for some time. There are two blends shipped with one ingredient different between the two. One says made in Canada on the top label and one does not. The one made in Canada does not steam anywhere near as well as the one without it. There is in turn a small taste difference between the two. The good one is 5 star the other maybe 2 at best.

Didn’t reach the level of quality to be expected for the site rating. Quantity needed for each drink was a lot more because it didn’t froth as advertised.

I very rarely leave negative reviews. This is an exception. To start with the positive, there is no issue with flavor, taste or usability for other purposes as mixing protein shakes. A product that purports to be a “barista blend” that “froths and steams remarkably well” should do precisely that. Because the product fails completely for its intended job, I gave it one star despite the otherwise good taste.
I did two steaming runs in a Bellman 50SS Stovetop Steamer (this is sold on Amazon). The device functions exactly like a steam wand on an espresso machine. Using the same exact technique as I do when I steam anything else (i.e. using a proper pitcher, correctly angling the wand slightly off center, supporting it on the spout, keeping it just at or slightly below the surface to create the needed vortex, never exceeding 65C..), all it accomplished was heating the liquid. Any “foam” that formed dissipated in under five seconds leaving only a hot almond milk. This might work for adding to a filter/drip coffee or making an almond milk-based hot chocolate perhpas, but that’s not what this product is marketed for. There is no head of foam that’s suitable even for a cappuccino. Much less lattes with even the most rudimentary latte art. Lattes cannot be made with this product; it’s simply impossible.
I then tested it in a Bialetti Tuttocrema, also sold on Amazon. With this device you heat the liquid to 65C, then use a French Press style plunger with two discs at the bottom to froth the pre-heated liquid. The technique I use more than doubles the volume: 40 quick strokes top midway to bottom, followed by 40 long strokes at half the speed top all all the way to bottom. With this product, frothing is a total waste of time. Not one micro-bubble. Nothing. There is no froth at all. I don’t know on what planet it froths remarkably well. It’s not Earth.
A complete failure, therefore, whether by proper steaming or by preheat/froth.
Standard Unsweetened Almond Milk by contrast steams or froths similar to full fat cow’s milk though the foam head as I’m doing it doesn’t lend itself to latte art. At least, standard unsweetened almond milk works for cappuccinos. I can’t speak about Almond Breeze’s “barista” offering as I’ve never used it, but their standard almond milk steams, and froths to double the volume very easily. I’ll take that over this any morning.
I have 4 1/2 cartons left and they will be used for mixing protein shakes. The “barista” was promptly fired.

I had the best iced coffee at a hipster cafe in my neighborhood, so I asked them to show me what type of almond milk they use and it was this Califa Farms barista style. I hunted it down on Amazon after not being able to find it anywhere in my local health food stores.
This almond milk is unsweetened, is very creamy and blends well with the coffee. It is not as thick as dairy cream so you do have to use a bit more, however it is thicker than the Califa Farms regular Almond milk that I also sometimes buy.
I have tried a few brands of plant based cream and have not liked them. Most options come already sweetened, which is strange. The Califa coconut milk version is ok if you love coconut flavor all the time, but it wasn’t my cup of tea, so I prefer this almond milk.
In the past I didn’t have much luck with almond milk in hot coffee, as it didn’t seem to heat well, however the few times I had hot coffee beverages with this Califa Farm barista Almond milk creamer I have not had any issues. It doesn’t taste weird or disintegrate in hot beverages. It has been hot out so I have mostly been having iced coffee, which is perfect right now! And honestly, I cannot wait to try it with Thai iced tea someday.

Maybe I got a bad batch. It’s not out of date, but each part of this last batch is good for a while and then starts to curdle in my coffee. Pricy, but I got it because other almond milks don’t cream and I can’t get unsweetened almond creamer locally any more. I don’t like the curdling so I’m considering trying my usual almond milk again. Not sure what to do here. When it doesn’t curdle ì works great and tastes fine. It didn’t used to curdle. I used to get Whole foods no buzz decaf but the one I’m using now curdles it. I’ve used it a long time. Maybe I just got a bad batch. At this point I’m looking for alternatives. A low acid coffee wouldn’t make it curdle. But I’ll have to shop around a bit for that.

This almondmilk is delicious, super creamy and on the thicker side, which I love. It does steam really well, I haven’t had much luck getting it to foam, that could just be my error though. Wish it wasn’t so expensive but it’s so good I will continue to buy it.

i love this almond milk. it is a thicker consistently than a previous brand i was buying. i found this one and switched since i was having trouble buying the brand that i had used for several years. I like the barista blend and it blends well with my chai tea mix. i use it for a milk substitute in recipes and it works well. blends excellent. good quality almond milk!

I use this with my morning coffee and any recipes that call for milk. It is surprisingly creamy. The only downside is that you need to use it within a week or so of opening, or else it will go bad. They say that you should shake it before each use, and it definitely tastes better after you shake it. I wish it cost less money, but overall, this is a good and easy non-dairy staple to have in your pantry.
