Though I can barely taste pineapple, the pieces are too sweet for me. What happened to dried fruit that isn’t coated with sugar?

The flavor is good but I couldn’t eat them as they use Sulphur Dioxide as a preservative. This is not stated anywhere on the Amazon website, however it had a small label attached when I received them stating the ingredients.
