I tried so hard to like these, but the more I ate, the more I hated them. It says “dried” sweet potato so I imagined dehydrated, like a chip. But they’re slimy and thick, kind of like eating a soft carrot. I love sweet potatoes but I just couldn’t get on board with the texture or flavor.

Wonderful alternative to less-healthy sugary snacks!

I liked the texture of this product. It was slightly chewy and sweet, but not sugary. It was a bit small though.

The kids love this snacks for school. Also they are perfect for our hikes. Not too sweet.

My boyfriend and I both like sweet potatoes in general and are always happy to try new healthy snack options. I loved the fact that these sweet potato sticks are made of 100% sweet potato with no additives. They are listed as vegan, gluten free, and non GMO.
They came well-packaged in a nice looking box with professional-looking, well-translated text. Each snack was individually wrapped and while someone extremely environmentally conscious might not like that, I’m guessing it might be important for maintaining freshness/texture and not having the snacks dry out. I don’t see it as being any worse than individually wrapped cereal bars or candies. I could even see someone very health conscious giving these out for Halloween.
My boyfriend and I had never tried Korean sweet potatoes and apparently they are a lot sweeter than whatever kind is available in the US. We were imagining something more along the lines of a sweet potato chip (which we both love) or dried sweet potato of some kind… or the flavor of sweet potato fries. We were really surprised by both the flavor and texture when we sampled these. First, the texture was very sticky and chewy, almost like the consistency of taffy or candied fruit. We found them to be extremely sweet and unfortunately the flavor was off-putting compared to sweet potatos that we’re used to. We didn’t want to deduct from the rating based on personal taste– someone else might love them, and with them being a healthy snack, they might be worth a try.

These are what they claim to be and for someone else may taste great. I like sweet potato casserole and candied so I thought I would enjoy these but I just didn’t.

The sweet potato sticks come individually wrapped and are easy to open. They are a little sticky when holding onto one, but they don’t cause a mess. Eating one is similar to eating some dried fruit, like an apricot. I did not notice any flavor or even taste. So there is no bad aftertaste. The sweet potato sticks are a healthier option as they are low in sugar. So if you are trying to eat healthier and need a decent snack option, these are worth trying out.

I thought these would be a great lunch box treat for my daughter who is following a vegan lifestyle. She thought that they were very tasty and appreciated the individually wrapped convivence. A great little snack she told me.

I like that these snacks are individually wrapped and contain nothing other than dried sweet potatoes. No added sugars, no added fats, just potatoes. They are sweet without added sugar and we liked the taste.
The box states that they can be eaten right out of the package or can be heated in the microwave for 10 seconds after removing the snack bar from the foil-lined package. Although the package has indentations that make ripping them open possible without using scissors, I found the actual snack to be sticky enough to hold on tightly to the inside of the package and needed to rip the front of the package open to get it out in one piece.
First we split a snack in half and tried it cold. It was so sweet that I rechecked the ingredients listing on the package: the only ingredient is dried sweet potatoes! Next we opened another package, put it on a plate, and heated it for 10 seconds in the microwave. It came out HOT!
Heating the snack made it softer and stickier. My co-tester preferred them hot. I found the cold snack more to my liking because, while it was still soft, it was less sticky. Both ways tasted very good. After eating them either hot or cold my fingers were slightly sticky and I needed to wash my hands.
Checking out the nutrition label showed that one package has only 60 calories and 5mg of sodium and yet packs a full 3 grams of dietary fiber. That makes it so much better for a mid-afternoon snack than candy or fried snacks and the packages do not require refrigeration so I can keep a few in my desk drawer.

I really thought I’d like these, and I wanted to, but sadly, I don’t enjoy them. First off, I thought they were going to be more like fruit leather or dried mango slices. In reality, they are rubbery sticks, about 4 inches long and square.
The flavor is really bland. I get almost no sweetness and almost wish they had some salt? I don’t know how to describe the flavor other than not good, but not bad.
I think the texture is what gets me. They have a slightly sticky, grainy gummy consistency. I think if they had a really strong flavor, the off-putting texture wouldn’t be such a concern, but they don’t taste like anything so the texture is all I notice. The box says you can microwave them for 10 sec or eat them cold. I tried to warm one up (they get super hot in 10 sec FYI) and I liked them less warm than cold.
The packaging is quality, and it is a very packable snack. The individual sleeves they come in are heavy-duty, and you won’t smash or ruin one of these in the bottom of a bag. If you happen to like the taste, then they would be great for a hike or on a trip. From a “go green, save the earth” perspective, the packaging is probably a little wasteful. But sometimes, you need individually wrapped snacks. It’s a catch – 22 I guess.
My 2-year-old son ate one and liked it enough to finish it, but he wasn’t thrilled. I think he thought it was a big gummy worm and kept eating it, waiting for it to get sweeter. Kids are weird. Anyway, I’ll keep them around and try to give them to him for a healthy snack from time to time. I don’t want to waste them, but I doubt I’ll eat another one.
I’m more than willing to say that my review of these things is purely personal preference, so if these seem like they could be your thing, don’t let me yuk your yum. They just aren’t for me.
