I have never even heard of this-however I am having hip replacement surgery tomorrow and my doctor recommended this. I don’t love strawberry but it is definitely drinkable

We miss read the listing but needed it and ordered. Nice tasting. We were worried it was colored because of the picture on the label. It has absolutely no color to it. Had to have totally clear for my husbands procedure. He really like this product.

Taste was not what I was expecting. I don’t like the taste but who cares I needed to drink it for my procedure. I ended up having 2 left over and I don’t know what to do with them lol

I was surprised by how many people think that this item, Ensure Pre-Surgery, is the same thing as Ensure sold at grocery stores. This is a special form of Ensure Clear, not just transparent, but without any color at all, which is designed to be a part of a strict clear liquids diet before a medical procedure, such as surgery or colonoscopy. You would not drink it more than a day, and there is no other reason to drink it other than for a medical procedure. It is totally clear (no color at all). It comes in strawberry flavor, but the flavor is very subtle and I would probably not even guessed that it is strawberry if it was not written on the bottle. It is probably an artificial strawberry flavor. The taste is agreeable, but I would not drink it if I did not have a good reason to. I used it for prep for colonoscopy. Ensure Pre-Surgery is not carried by grocery stores or pharmacies, so I was very glad to find it on Amazon. It is unlikely that someone would drink more than 4 bottles during the day of clear liquids diet (in most cases it is a one day prep, although it may be different in some cases, I just do not know). The difference with Ensure Clear is that Ensure Clear is transparent, but has a strong color to it (and tastes better). Depending on the type of medical procedure which you are preparing for, Ensure Clear might also work (and it would have more flavors and would taste better and it is also cheaper) – ask your doctor.

I needed to drink this before surgery to up my protein count. The taste was good and I drank it even after surgery. If you are looking for a great deal here it is.

It’s definitely not my favorite drink in the world but I’ve also had a lot worse drinks. I got this when my surgeon’s pre-op recommended it by name. The high carbs supposedly help with recovery. I can’t attest to if that’s true or not but I can say that I healed very quickly after my surgery. I would absolutely do this again before surgery if/when my doctor recommends it.
