It works OK for short term. Foam is thick & not durable. Tears easily and starts to peel. Thick foam is difficult to use with tray table on airplane. To put the try in thr full & upright position. You have to position the holder on the side of the table. It either sticks out on the isle. Or makes it impossible for the middle seat to use their try table.
The FLEX brand in MUCH MUCH nicer. It is smaller, but quality is night & day different. Two of the FLEX brads, if you really need something large, would work better. Use one on either side of the tray table lock. Tablet would be centered & better supported.

It works. I like that it can store flat in my crossbody bag. I use it to watch movies (iPhone 14 Pro Max or iPad mini) while I wait for my Dad during his weekly medical appointments. Folds and unfolds very easily. Also easy to position for optimal viewing angles in different lighting. My only issue my phones case a smooth surface so it can easily slide out of the angle stand when I touch the phone.
Easy to clean: I spilled coffee on it last week. It rinsed out just fine after washing with a bit of dish soap. The liquid didn’t weaken the flexible board inside. 👍🏼

This is great idea and I loved it when I got it. However, the steel inside is the fabric is super soft and brittle. Only after a couple uses it broke and it no longer folds. What I did was bend it to the shape I wanted to be used, folded it back straight to be placed away, and then bent it back when I needed and that’s when it broke. So, this item is not durable or long lasting. If you plan to use it all the time and never straighten it out then it’ll be fine, however, that makes it no longer portable.
I loved the item at first but was super disappointed when it broke only after a couple uses. I would not recommend and look elsewhere.
UPDATE: Seller reached out to me and sent me a replacement. This replacement so far has been great. I have used it a few times and the metal has not snapped yet (like it did in with my first order). Updating my 1 star to 5 stars for a working product and a super awesome responsive seller.

Used it for a couple of plane trips over the past few weeks and it works as advertised. It takes a little tweaking to get it to hold steady but once you do get it set it works great. When I’m done with it I fold it flat and throw it in my bag. It’s something you don’t think you need until you actually use it, and now I make sure to take it on every trip.

It’s good and easy to manipulate to hold your device. I added a thin rubber band around it to make sure the device doesn’t slip out from the sides during any air turbulance.

I tried to set up my phone on this item but it wouldn’t hold it. It just seemed to be worthless to me.

I flew a few times a year and always occupy myself with the free movies. This little flap helps me not have to hold my phone the entire flight. You just fold it in the position you want, close the tray table over it and bam. I’ve used it to hold my phone on my desk as well.

I got this as a gift for someone who travels all the time and “doesn’t need any travel stuff.” But she loved it and was really excited to try it out on her next flight.
High quality and fast shipping

Still going. I expected it to die by now to be honest, but its still good to go.
Nothing exciting to report other than cleaning it with alcohol wipes or windex will always treat you better than most other cleaners.

20k or so miles later and I’m still loving the flap. Admittedly I’m excited about trying the new Airhook 2.0 – the Flap is still a Simple concept, gets no grief from the TSA, and disappears into my bag behind my notebook every time.
Works great at holding up phones, battery packs and even headphones (not all at the same time).
I can see why people have problems with “tearing” it, you just need to be careful and remember not to jam it if there isn’t enough clearance behind the tray. Also remember, the closer to the edge the more flex in the tray.
Great product.
[Original Review]:
As an avid Airhook user I was looking for something a little slimmer to stick in my bag with more flexibility and the Flight Flap delivers. Its super light, holds up my phone, offers no TSA hassle, no stewardess grief, and it slides into my bag next to my notebook just fine.
My primary usage for this while flying is with an iPhone in landscape mode, watching movies and connected to power, or in portrait mode with music playing (either of these is with bluetooth headphones). It supports both of these usage modes very well. The flap is nice because as it claims, you can build a tray-stand if your meal tray is down, or you can fold your tray up and (on some planes) tuck it behind. Out near the edge works better btw as the flex in the meal tray helps. For me, I have found the "magazine pocket" to be the best spot for me. Stick 1/2 of it down behind the magazines and bend the other half around like a tray and voila. If you have a first class seat this usually means you can use your meal tray and still watch your device.
I have not tried it with an iPad so I cannot speak to that, and I should also point out that your phone is only resting on this. Unlike the Airhook or Joby products there is no ‘grip’ holding the device in place so it is possible that it could bounce off if you have a lot of turbulence or you don’t leave a big enough lip when you bend it.
I have not had issues with it getting ripped as others have reported but I have not used it in tight clearance spaces that much yet either. Will update this review accordingly if my experience changes. As of now, I plan to get a second one to put in my partners travel bag as well.
Thanks for reading my review and if there’s any questions or more details you’d like to see here let me know.

Honestly I thought this would be a cheesy, cheap gimmick. But I decided to try it based on good reviews, and I was very pleasantly surprised.
I bought it to hold my Kindle closer to eye level than using a stand on the tray table, and it worked perfectly. I was a little worried I’d need to wrap it so far around the bottom of the Kindle that it would obscure the bottom lines of text. But it turns out to be quite non-slip, so you really don’t need to fold it too far up the front of whatever device you’re holding.
It’s thicker than I expected, and than I think it needs to be. So it takes a little effort to close your tray table on it, which may momentarily bother the person seated in front of you. But once you get it situated, it’s rock solid. Neither this nor the device your holding will move.
My one slightly negative surprise was the material. The Pro version looks like the front is a canvas material, which appealed to me. But it turns out the front is the same neoprene (?) as the back – the canvas pattern is just a print. That probably makes it more non-slip, which is good. But I would find a more natural material more attractive.
I’ve only used it once, so I can’t speak to the durability. I fear that repeated folding and unfolding might weaken it. Only time (and use) will tell. But for now, it’s super easy to pack and works well for my purposes, so I’ll be taking it on every flight.
