My teeth are in bad shape and meat is usually too hard for my teeth to handle — except this one! The taste is pretty good. However, if you don’t want to have anything to do with added preservatives, you would not want this because it does have the standard preservative sodium benzoate. It also contains MSG (monosodium glutamate). I just wish they realize there are many people like me who doesn’t want to have MSG in their food!!!!!

I bought this mostly on a whim. I’d had pork floss in a restaurant dish here and there, but I’d never really thought about it. Then I read a blog post about using it to top oatmeal, for a Chinese-style spin, and I decided to give it a shot. I searched Amazon and found this brand thanks to its positive reviews…and to say that it exceeded my expectations would be an understatement.
This is a product that sounds kind of gross on paper (at least, to me). But the reality is that this is light and fluffy, salty and slightly sweet, umami-bomb meat candy. Its flavor is clean, not at all “porky” (if you know what I mean) and just absolutely delicious. I’ve even been snacking on it here and there straight out of the jar. (Warning: It’s very high in sodium, so you might not want to do too much of that.)
Back to my original intent, that oatmeal: Steel cut oats cooked to a slightly looser than usual texture. (Or, if you have the patience, actual rice congee.) A runny poached egg. Some soy sauce, some black vinegar, and a somewhat liberal pile of this stuff on top. Best breakfast. Ever.
I’m looking forward to using this product in a variety of dishes. So glad I decided to buy this!

I ordered at evening, and it arrived next day.

I usually buy in Asian grocery which is a lot cheaper. But when there isn’t one around… Amazon delivers. So you’re paying and extra $5-$8 minimum for the convenience.

My wife loves this. She adds it to soup, salads, sandwiches, wraps, even pasta dishes. She says it’s better than other brands that are similarly-priced. I can’t say, myself, as it’s not my cup of tea.

This is a standard in most Asian households. Being from Taiwan, the preference is for a Taiwan brand since childhood is associated with this and many buns, rice rolls, breakfast rolls, Asian crepes or flatbreads find this convenient as one would with peanut butter, ham, or cheese when making sandwiches. Yes, this is used in Asian sandwiches or stuffed in sweet rolls for snacks.

Excellent quality but if you are really picky about it, this is more of a cross between pork floss and pork sung than pure pork sung. The Chinese usually put it in congee, the Japanese add their version of it (made from Kobe beef shavings) to salads. I use it as you would a dip for the thicker cuts of potato chips. It works great!

I have tried both the “Fu” and “Sung” varieties from three different companies. This company is the original, and my favorite. And in regards to the varieties, I think “Sung” is the most versatile and has the best flavor. They’re both good, but this one is definitely my favorite. Recommended!

Great product. However, greedy prices prevented me from rebuying it!!!

This is so delicious! It tastes just like how I remember back in Taiwan!
It goes well on rice, porridge and peanut butter bagels!
Kids also love it!
