These frozen farm-raised shrimp from India are huge and excellent. Know the package size – I had been looking at all the Fresh Brand shrimp choices, and have bought ‘”extra large” several times before. I just assumed all the packages are the same size that I’ve been buyihng – one pound. Actually, the two largest sizes are sold only in 12 oz packages; all the other smaller sizes of Fresh branc shrimp, from “extra large” on down, are sold in one-pound packages. My mistake. These colossal sized are very good – no complaints. But I won’t buy em again because for my purposes I’d rather have more meat than size.

Really pretty -effin huge shrimp, meaty, ok good flavor. You’ve got to gage the cooking time, however, and I over cooked mine in the steamer. Don’t do that. Good as a saute’ element over pasta in an oil-garlic-wine sauce, or plain, chilled after you cook ’em, dipped in cocktail sauce and squirted with lemon.
