Fresh Brand – Wild Caught Pacific Cod Skinless Fillet Portions, 1 lb (Frozen), Sustainably Sourced, Phosphate Free

I bought this after reading the mixed reviews and wish I hadn’t. The pieces are small and had a weird texture about them in some places. I would love to have a staple like this in the freezer but I won’t be buying this one again.

Way too high in sodium but I try to get around that a bit by soaking in water to defrost then more fresh to rinse in a strainer. A good source of protein to add to salads.

Good flavour. Made cod chowder. Sauteed in butter. One of the ingredients in fish pie.

They were good, but the portions were pretty small. I expected thicker and larger filets, but they were so small, most people would eat at least 2; which means to feed 2 to 3 people you would need an entire bag. That in itself wasn’t terrible; just I thought I could feed 2 people 2x off this (for meal planning/budget purposes). It’s not to say that I wouldn’t get this again, but larger/thicker filets cook different, too; so it can create an entirely different flavor. Again, yes, I would get these again.

This cod is absolutely delicious! Comes 4 individually sealed pieces. I take out two pieces, thaw them in the fridge overnight and cook them up in the microwave for about 1 min, 45 seconds and it’s perfection! And what a great price too! Love it!
