Very salty and sour , not as described. Don’t buy.

The mangoes I received were almost useless. Part of the
reason may be they were at the very end of the season and the
weather during shipping was unusually warm. The quality of
what was received was so poor that only 2 of the mangoes were
suitable to eat, with the rest being discarded.
Brian Taylor –
These mangoes are so sweet and juicy I immediately ordered another batch. They’re so juicy that I had to eat them over my kitchen sink, juices was running down my forearm.
Meredith M. –
Extremely disappointed. 6 mangoes were delivered. 3 were rotted and bruised. Complete waste of money.
Elizabeth –
I received 5 mangos. 3 were rotten. Do not buy!

champagne mangoes also known as Altofo mangoes are for me my favorite food. They have a tart taste that other mangoes don’t. I gave one to my boss when asked if she could try it. She thought they were too sour. they are kind of sweet and sour at the same time. They are usually available from March through August, as they are traditionally grown in one area of Mexico. It appears that someone in South America is growing them now too. i got some in the dead of winter that were from Ecuador. Since their seasons are reversed you can sometimes get them in the winter, just not on a regular basis. When i see them, I grab a basket of them because they are absolutely scrumptious.

I haven’t even got a chance to taste them 4 out of the 8 look like they are going bad. I should have read the reviews before buying. Very very disappointing

Having lived in Brasil for 13 yrs and always having a mango tree in the backyard, I have grown up on them. When I discovered the Champagne Mango I now only want those. They are extremely sweet and have no strings. Living in a small town now, the only time I can get them is when I need to drive over 130 miles to special stores that carry them. So when I discovered that Amazon carried them I jumped on it. How disappointed I was when I received them. Many of them were already very ripe. I picked out the ripest one, cut down the sides and realized it was stringy. I tasted it and it was not sweet at all but a very unpleasant taste. It sort of puckered up my mouth. My best friend also tried one and had the same reaction. Your best bet is to buy them at a specialty grocery store or Chinese grocery. These are not representative of the true Champagne Mango.
