I loved the fruit, it was fresh and sweet!

it was poorly wrapped and no label to identify whom sent the gift and only was in a bag weighted less then 10 lbs
Amazon Customer –
Gift crate/box was heavily damaged on two sides, some of the grapefruits and oranges were spoiled. Some of the apples were frozen from the packaging. Very little of what was sent was edible. I received message that package was delivered on Friday, but the recipient said the gift did not arrive until Saturday. Extremely disappointing for a birthday gift sent to my dear friend who turned 95. I would have been better off sending her the $50 cash instead!

We received this as a gift. The (VERY inaccurate) photo from Amazon is above. In truth, the item was not “lovely fruit packed in a foil bag”. It was a cardboard box with no foil liner, just a medley of fruit loose in a box, and with a thin layer of brown paper at the top. Seriously – just a loose jumble of fruit in a cardboard box! The grapefruit ended up being the only items we could eat. The pears were very puny and thin, and when they did ripen they were mostly “core” and the widest part of any pear was about 3-1/2 inches–There was literally NOTHING to eat! The oranges were navel oranges, not a juicy orange. I don’t know why anyone gives those as a gift. Even eaten in sections, they were dry. The apples were Gala. A huge disappointment – we love Galas but these were mealy and without taste. The texture was like apples that have been stored in your basement for a little too long. The grapefruit were small but very good! They were in various stages of ripeness so we were able to enjoy them over several days as they hit their peak of flavor. Very nice pink flesh and all but one were quite juicy. You people who keep ordering gifts from Amazon because they are fast and cheap and little effort — wake up! If the price is too good to be true, it probably is a lousy product! I would be highly embarrassed to find that a gift I sent was such poor quality. In the same week we received a gift box of pears from Harry & David that were heavenly. Large juicy fruit and they were all at different stages of ripening so we didn’t have any go to waste. With this Capital City Fruit order, I ended up throwing everything but the grapefruit into the woods for the deer. Sadly, I’m sure our family members will opt for the Amazon easy way out next year too. I’d really rather see them make a donation to a reputable charity. No I do NOT recommend buying this particular product from this company.

Oranges were rotten; grapefruit had mold; apples were old and pears were hard as a rock. Tossed them. I was so disappointed.
