I wanted to use fresh turmeric and ginger to make a Golden Milk to help with sleep. Ginger root is easy enough to get at the local supermarket, but turmeric is a little more difficult to find. Powdered turmeric always seems a little suspicious to me because it’s tasted different each time I’ve purchased it. I’ve never used fresh turmeric, so I didn’t really know what to expect. Like fresh ginger, it is not a visually attractive herb. It looks like a giant worm, but once you wash it, peel it, and grate it, it’s a beautiful orange, and it made a difference in the taste of my beloved Golden Milk. I used a potato peeler for peeling, and a rasp grater for grating.
This turmeric-ginger mix shipped quickly, got here on time, and was what I was expecting. They came in paper bags and were of good quality.

They come very fresh and in excellent condition. They taste delicious. I refridgerate half of them and freeze half in the paper bags they come in within freezer bags. I grate the frozen ones as they grate very easy while frozen and they are still very fragrant and fresh. (They are somewhat soggy if you freeze them and then put them in the fridge and they do not grate as well.) I highly recommend them!
