I not only love beets and appreciate their health benefits, I also use them occasionally to make a tomato-free marinara sauce. Sometimes I don’t have time for washing, trimming, drying, and roasting fresh organic beets. Gefen Beets arrive whole, sodium free, cooked, and vacuum packed. They taste delicious and the convenience is wonderful. Next time I’m going to buy the organic version.

Would love if they were shipped inside a box. Sometimes beets are squished. Great taste!

Nothing to dislike. It’s beets. It’s not ice cream but they taste fine for beets. Good for my health and blends easily in a smoothie.

I recently discovered a love for roasted beets at my local steakhouse. I had grown up eating pickled beets in the Midwest, but had forgotten about them. Decided to go to my local grocery store and try my hand at preparing roasted beets, similar to what I had as a side dish at the steak restaurant. I was shocked to see that three small raw beets cost over three dollars! A dollar a beet…and I had to peel and boil them myself!! This was very disappointing. I started my Amazon search to try to find something that would be more reasonable. I found some really delicious pickled beets from a farm in Ohio. $15-20 a jar! It was about 4 snack servings for me. Not a good frequent expenditure. I am very happy to have found these Geffen beets. They are perfectly cooked, there are several large servings in each vacuum packed pouch. One pouch sliced completely refilled the $15 jar that I had purchased previously. I used the same pickling juice after I ate the last few bites..and will see how it flavors these -as they are unseasoned but still yummy.

In France, this is a common item in supermarkets and quite cheaper. You can get a 500 gram (a little over a pound) package for $1.85 *equivalence. They are better there, like most everything else. They are bigger and tastier. Still, I’m glad to be able to buy these in the U.S. without having to fuss with stem, cutting and cooking. I made a salad with cut up beets, crumbled feta cheese, little pieces of apple, and a little baby spinach. It was a nice change from the usual frozen dinners. The sweetness of the beets and apples against the sour feta cheese is delicious. You could add a can of corn as well. I didn’t put any dressing. I just like the plain taste, as is. I will buy these again, but the organic ones next time. Maybe they’ll be a little closer to those in France. I put all of them in the refrigerator because they will taste better cold.
