Recently I contacted Amazon customer service about the condition my Golden Mountain Seasoning Sauce arrived in. As you can see in the pictures above the product had leaked all inside of the packaging. I may be a brave soul, but I’m not brave enough to eat that. Can I trust that it is just leakage, or was it tampered with in the shipping preparation? One never knows nowadays, so it’s best not to take chances. I would have felt better if there was a plastic seal around the cap. During my online chat with customer service, I was told that they would forward my inquiry on to the seller “Shop Simply Good”.
I received an email just this past Thursday from the seller and this is what they said.
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us. The item is brand new and sealed but sometimes due to heat and/or shipping, there could be leakage. Our returns and refunds are handled directly through Amazon. Please reach out to Amazon directly to get the refund processed. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.
Best,
Shop Simply Good
As you can see the company stated for me to contact Amazon directly to get the refund handled. It’s posted on Amazon that “Shop Simply Good” has a no return policy, but not a no refund/replacement policy. Anyway, they made no mention that they would even replace the product, and what seal could they have been speaking about? Was it just the bubble wrap that they are referring to as a seal? I’m lost right there. Anyway, I initially contacted Amazon about this. Amazon in turn told the seller about this, and the seller turns right around and sends me back to Amazon. All I want is a refund or a replacement with a seal around the cap. No Leakage. I’m not asking for much. Oh, and by the way, on the order details for this product there is no way to apply for refund. That’s a bit perplexing to me too. So if Amazon Customer Service sees this post, please contact me.

My good friend is from Thailand and this stuff is in nearly every Thai recipe. Great for sauces, fried rice, and seasoning meat.

I have celiac and use Golden Mountain Seasoning Sauce in place of soy sauce or tamari. My local Asian food market stopped stocking it (it was ~$5 there), so I ordered it off Amazon. $10+ bucks, but it lasts a long while (6ish months cooking for one).

it just my favorite soy Sauce

I cannot confirm if this is the ‘secret ingredient’ that famous BBQ joints are adding to their wraps, but if it isn’t, then it should be. I started using Golden Mtn Seasoning to my brisket wraps/rests and it was a game changer. I will never not wrap/rest my briskets w/o Golden Mtn seasoning in the wrap.
For beef, especially, it adds are very tasty umami flavor. Does not overpower like soy sauce typically would. I have used Golden Mtn as a binder to attach my seasonings, although mustard still works great too. I have tried Golden Mtn in salad dressings, ramen broths, and many different meat marinades (pork, chicken, beef). All of it has been very good, so now I have a couple spare bottles on hand for when I run out. I prefer to sous vide my steaks and I will usually put a well-seasoned steak w/ 1-2 Tbsp of Golden Mtn seasoning in the sous vide bag, vacuum seal it, and then cook it sous vide for a couple hours. A couple hours later, dry it off, blow torch the steaks to preferred-crust doneness….best ever!

This product is exactly what I was looking for flavor wise. Only problem is that the lid isn’t very good quality. Definitely not the end of the world, but like other reviews say the bottle may arrive with a small amount of sauce that has leaked out into the packaging.
I will give it credit for having a lid that can be resealed. Most Thai sauces that I have bough have a cut-top that can’t be closed again once opened.

I thought it would be a special Asian sauce, like Thai. That I could use in cooking. Instead it’s a good soy sauce. I’ll use it.

I use this in place of soy sauce and it’s pretty darn tasty. I haven’t eaten soy sauce in years because of this sauce that isn’t a salt bomb
