Gomer’s Seasoning was created by Mike and Peggy Ferrell of Santa Maria, California, in 1999. Friends and family began to ask for their special blended BBQ seasoning at every gathering, and they packaged them to give as gifts with the label “Gomer’s ‘gooder’n shit’ Bar-Bur-Q Seasoning.” They were such a big hit, Mike and Peggy decided to start selling them—and to change the name to something a little more store-friendly!
