In an effort to get more vitamins A and D from natural sources, I decided to try cod liver. This is the first and only one I’ve bought, and I am very happy with it.
The liver is very fresh and tender. And the can is packed with liver. It’s not a lot of oil with a couple of pieces of liver, which I’ve seen on some YouTube videos.
The taste is kind of like tuna, but with a very soft, creamy texture.
I keep the can in the fridge which thickens the oil into a more creamy texture. It’s delicious mixed with hard boiled eggs or in deviled eggs. I highly recommend this cod liver.

I’ve never had cod liver but decided to give it a try since I’ve been wanting to try different canned goods. The reviews seemed to be positive so I wanted to give this brand a try before the other ones offered on Amazon.
The flavor is buttery and melts in your mouth. It’s a must for those who are a big fan of pâté or land animal liver. I put mine in the fridge so that it becomes a bit more dense. I eat it with vegetables but I know others eat it on a piece of cracker or toasted bread.
It carries a lot of nutrients and is definitely for people with a specific taste palette. I had my family try it and they did not enjoy it because of the strong fish flavor — but you get used to it quickly.
This is my second 3-pack that I ordered within less than a week. I don’t follow a specific diet or anything but I definitely will be incorporating this into my eating routine!

I bought the 3 can pack for me and my spouse. We split the can. I ate half of the first can on toasted pumpernickel bread. It was doable, but not my favorite. Tonight we both put half a can with its oil in our salads with vinaigrette dressing. Like others have stated, it tastes like tuna packed in oil, but and this is a BIG but for me … I don’t like the melt in your mouth “buttery” texture. I know some people do, it just reminds me that l’m eating liver. My spouse was fine with it. If I could get past the mental image of liver it’d probably be okay. I gave it 4 stars because it’s high quality cod liver oil. Minus 1 star for texture, but I guess that’s how liver is – soft and mushy. I gave the 3rd can to my brother. Hopefully he’ll like it better.

You would think that COD liver would have a strong aftertaste and smell. Not at all. The COD liver tates good and I do add this to salads, and I usually add this to a salad 2 to 3 times a week. The price on the other hand is not so good. This is a high-ticket dollar item and for only 3 cans that I ordered through Amazon the price is too high.

Good quality , almost the same as the one I tasted in Iceland . Umami flavor is great.

Based on the weight & nutrition ratio of this brand I believe it to be of better quality. The price is about the same as others. I’d recommend getting the smaller cans however because the larger almost always get dented during shipping. Considering you shouldn’t consume more than 1/ 2 can a day, and it doesn’t stay more than 1-2 days in the fridge, this makes more sense anyways.
As far as taste, cod liver is Cod liver, they all taste the same. Surprisingly it’d not bad though. Not overly fishy, salty flavor. I have weak stomach and can be a picky eater and I eat it straight from the can. You can’t eat a lot but shouldn’t anyways. It’s a great natural source of vitamin D & A and omegas. Enjoy!

I am very pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture of this product. I don’t really care for fish and this doesn’t taste fishy to me at all. It’s a win as I can eat it plain out of the can. I didn’t have to add anything to it but believe it would be really good with hard-boiled eggs And maybe a little bit of dill with crackers or instead of mayonnaise use this for deviled egg mixture. The only thing that I disliked is two of the cans were damaged during shipping. One had been open and leaked inside the bag. The other one was just dented with no damage . Considering the expense of these individual cans I think more could be done to ensure product safety. Because it’s perishable there’s no return and no way of getting my money back for the damaged goods. Overall I am going to order these again as they are very good and I plan on adding them regularly to my family’s meals.
