My husband loves his new charger..especially that it opens and closes on its own! Super high tech and charges very fast! Will buy one next for myself.

Please make sure that the cigarette port is compatible with your phone. I have a 2016 ford explorer platinum and it does not work. It does work with my wifes subaru. Just be aware. Over all the product works really well!! Ive have iottie for about 8-10 years now

It is better than expected. I have used phone mounts in my car for more than 5 years, and none of the products lasted for long time, you could see the small problems within a month of installation. And all the other products which I have used were made in China, so it might be the different factor with this specific product that it seems to have better build quality since it’s made in the US. It has only been a month since I installed this mount in my car, but haven’t noticed any problems. And I have a good feeling that it will last long. Only problem is that the charging speed is slower than all the other mounts I have used before, but not too slow, yet it’s noticable. I would recommend this product to everyone who is looking for good quality phone mount for their car.

Charges our iPhone SE 2020i reasonably quickly. Now both cars are equipped!
As for adhesion, wherever you decide to put this thing. If it’s gonna be there for any length of time, consider it near permanent. Adhesive did not want to release when I tried to remove my non-charging original unit from my car. Fortunately, the charging head retro fits nicely.
Who Me –
Setting this up in my car was easy. Power cord was long enough for where I set it up, to the left of the steering wheel, but it could have used being longer so I could hide it a bit better. Does fast charging just fine but the phone does get warmer than my desktop wireless charger. The instructions recommend keeping the charger away from direct sun light which is easier said than done in my car. The auto sense is a nice feature and works as described. Opens up nice and wide and fits my Note10+ with the Samsung rugged case. Holds the phone well and feels very secure.
My previous wireless charger for the car was the iOttie easy one touch fast charger and it would give me issues with fast charging because of the excessive heat in the car during the summer months. Unfortunately this one came right when fall decided to hit the Midwest so I can’t tell if it will have the same problem. For now I’ll leave the rating as is and will update once I get to try it during the warmer months.

OK i’ve been driving around with this thing for a week now and absolutely love the thing. I wanted to share my thoughts for anyone in the market to buy a phone mount for their car and address some of the major points of concern for people as I’ve seen in the reviews. I did a fair amount of research into a phone mount for my car as my last vent mount crapped out on me, and I wanted one that would wirelessly charge my phone and had the auto clamp feature as well. Here are a few things to highlight about this mount:
STABILITY/SECURITY: So far in driving around the bumpy, potholed streets of Chicago this thing has kept my phone very secure and stable once its locked in to the mount. This was a major point of concern for me as my last vent mount would shake around and fall off whenever i hit a bump. I use the iOttie as a dashboard mount, and with the little stabilizing plate that comes with it, the whole apparatus stays very secure and doesn’t wobble around much at all when I’m driving. 5 stars in this aspect.
Qi Wireless Charging: I noticed a lot of people complaining about the charging speed of this thing and other similar products. I would just like to remind all the complainers that this is a WIRELESS QI CHARGING phone mount. Obviously its not going to charge up your phone as fast as a traditional plug in charger. However, in my experience on the road (I do food deliveries, meaning my phone is on for hours straight with maps and other apps running) this thing gives me just enough charge for the whole day. On average I’d say i gain about 10% for every 30 minutes on the mount. This isn’t bad considering you can always plug your phone in to an actual charger (using the lighter plug in that comes with this cord not included) if you really need a boost. I also use a fairly thick case on my phone and the charge still works. 4/5 stars
Auto-clamp feature: This is one of my favorite features. The auto clamping arms are reliable and sturdy. Once you put your phone to the mount the arms automatically open and close after one second. The buttons on either side also work very well, you can push either one individually or both at the same time to open the clamps. Once inside the clamps my phone doesnt move around at all. 5 stars
Installation: Fairly easy to install, directions that come with it are a little vague, but with time and a fair practicality I got everything set up in 30 minutes. It only took this long because it recommended letting the dashboard stabilizing plate sit for 15-20 minutes before placing the suction cup on. Highly recommend doing this. 4.5/5 stars
Overall, this thing was worth every penny. The versatility of installation methods gives you the option to hold your phone in whichever way you choose based on your cars set up. The clamp is reliable and secure even in bumpy off road conditions. The charge is consistent and although not equipped with lightning charging speeds, it gets the job done. Highly recommend!

1st UPDATE! I have just discovered (5 months after buying this mount) that the ring that tightens against the knob that holds the angle of the phone mount has cracked, and have submitted a request for a replacement part. I will update my review to describe the warranty experience. Other than this problem the mount has been EXCELLENT!
2nd Update! (5/2/2020)
Today I received a replacement ring for my car mount phone holder. When I emailed customer support at iOttie I got a confirmation email in a few hours, and by the end of the day they emailed again to say they would be shipping a replacement. It took less that a week to get my new locking ring, which I have just installed.
Looking at the replacement ring, it appears bigger,(first picture) but when you flip the rings over, it appears that the while the original ring was a single, thicker piece, the new ring is a thinner inner ring, surrounded by a second thin outer ring. I will have to see if this hold up under the stress of having to hold my heavy S7 edge and its heavy Otter Box. It took pictures to show the difference, but I don’t see a way to submit photos to this edit of the review.
I’ve gone through at least 3 cheap car mounts from 5 Below or other stores, and they break, or they barely hold my phone, or they peel off the dash. This mount is the best I’ve seen yet, but the price reflects that.
First off, the packaging and the verb-age are great. This product is made in Korea, but the English language instructions are EXCELLENT compared to most overseas products. Nothing gives me the willies when I open up a new box and the broken English instructions and descriptions are way off. Iottie spent the money on getting the packaging details right, and that gives me confidence that the actual product is well done too. The 2 year warranty is something I have not seen on any similar products.
This mount has motorized arms that open to accept your phone, and also squeeze to hold it in place. A sensor in the mount can “see” your phone being brought toward it, and the arms spread open to receive the phone, and then squeeze closed, centering your phone to the left and right so that the wireless charging coil can charge the phone. The lower phone support has to be set manually for your phone, but once it is correctly set you don’t have to worry about it again unless you switch phones, or change your phone case.
You push either of a pair of release buttons to open the jaws when taking your phone. This can be done for a while after the power to the unit is turned off, due to a battery built into the unit, but you can’t PLACE the phone in the mount unless power to the 12 v plug is being supplied by the vehicle. I make an effort to remove the phone before turning off the vehicle, but I do forget sometimes.
The phone sensor port is supposed to work well with shiny surfaces, and clear glossy stickers are supplied to put on the back of your case if your phone case texture is too matte for the sensor to detect. My Otterbox Defender case is rather matte and bumpy, but I have not seen the mount fail to detect the phone yet.
The wireless charging supplies 10 watts for Android phones and 7.5 watts for IPhones. WIth most wireless chargers, if a phone case is too thick, the phone may not charge, or may default to normal speed rather that high speed. My Otterbox case is pretty much as thick as they come, and I get high speed charging every time I place the phone.
The grip is strong enough to hold the phone in place, and I’ve not had the phone jiggle loose since getting the mount.
The suction cup mount is the sticky variety, and will cling to the windshield, but for dash mounting there is a disc with an adhesive sticker on the bottom and a smooth top for the suction cup to grab.
Once area in which I would advise caution; the micro USB connection from the 12v plug to the head of the mount is not held in by anything but friction, and may pull loose. I had to make sure early on that it was really plugged all the way in, because it felt like the unit was not getting power. Since then I have not had a problem.
The telescoping arm extends out a few inches, and the pivot allows the arm to swing over the unit so that it can hang from the windshield. The ball joint seems adequate, and does hold the phone securely at least for now, but if there’s ONE piece of the mount that seems like it might loosen up, it would be the ball joint.
Overall I love this mount and recommend it.
3rd UPDATE!
This unit is still working. I STILL have issues with the ball mount allowing the phone to tilt forward from the jolts of everyday driving. Other than that, this car mount is fantastic.

I recently purchased the iOttie Auto Sense Qi Wireless Car Charger, and overall, it’s a mixed bag. The AUTO SENSE feature is a game-changer; the motion-sensing technology that automatically opens and closes the cradle arms is undeniably convenient. No more fumbling with clamps, making it a seamless experience to secure your phone while driving. The telescopic arm is a nice touch, providing flexibility for optimal viewing.
However, there are a few drawbacks. The strong suction cup generally holds well, but on occasions, especially on bumpy rides, the mount can lose its grip. Additionally, the backup power feature, while innovative, has room for improvement. The internal battery’s one-hour duration after turning off the vehicle sometimes falls short, leaving you in the lurch if you forget to retrieve your phone promptly. The case compatibility is decent, but for the best charging experience, going without a case is recommended. All in all, a solid choice for a wireless car charger, but it has its quirks.

I gave one of the predecessors of this a five-star review. It didn’t have Qi fast wireless charging, but the clamp was the best design I had ever used or seen. With just a bit of practice, it was extremely easy to use and held the phone securely. My wife’s Samsung S9 had problems with overheating, so she didn’t even connect the wireless charger. My S10 did fine with the wireless charging. When I upgraded to a S22+, on long trips, I had problems with (a) my phone not charging, and (b) my phone overheating and randomly rebooting during the trip. I decided to upgrade to this model (a) to get Qi wireless fast charging (which I hope will help with charging on long trips) and the improved air cooling (which I hope will help with the overheating issue). I was so happy with the hand-operated clamp that I didn’t need an upgrade for that. But… I HATE the automatic clamping. You can’t open or close the clamp unless you have started the car. So my putting the phone in the holder before I start the car, and taking it out after I shut off the car, which are my usual habits, didn’t work. At least until I plugged it into an always-on cigarette-lighter socket which I have in the front of my vehicle. But then it may drain the battery if I don’t drive the vehicle for a long time. And, even with the cellphone holder plugged into 12V power all the time – I still HATE IT. If you have a black case, which I do, you have to put a clear reflective sticker on the back of the phone so the holder will recognize that you’re trying to put the phone in the holder. AND get it in just the right place on the back of your phone. AND hold it at just the right angle for the holder to recognize that you’re trying to put the phone in the holder. AND wait for the clamp to slowly open. All this hassle because iOttie engineers wanted to fix something that WASN’T BROKEN and was a marvel of engineering. I suppose that if you had a crippled hand that couldn’t operate the original clamp this might be nice. On the other hand [sic], if your hand is that crippled, how can you operate the steering wheel? I have given up on this and ordered an iOttie phone holder with Qi fast wireless charging but the old, and to my mind much superior, mechanical clamp. I will review it after using it on a long trip.

This is one of the better quality phone mounts that I have seen or used. It is definitely a bit expensive compared to most other car phone mounts, and this is the first time I decided to go with a mount with built in wireless charging and I was not disappointed. I’m using the dashboard/windshield mounting version of the product. Other mounts of this style that I have used in the past usually end up having some free play in the suction cup base or in the pivoting joints that let the phone and the whole arm flop and bounce around a bit especially when trying to use your phone while driving on rougher roads which can be irritating to say the least. This iOttie mount on the other hand is very solid, using the plastic dashboard mounting pad this thing is firmly attached to my dash and with all the picots tightened down snuggly my phone down not move around at all even on the roughest of PA roads making it very easy and safe to using while driving. It’s only been a week so far but the adhesive on the dash mounting pad and the suction cup base is very strong and stays firmly in place even on hot summer days when the inside of the car is like a sauna. The arm on the mount is extendable however it does not extend quite as far as others of this type I have used previously, although it is still long enough to be used comfortably. The charging cord that it came with was long enough to reach from the mount on the dash and into the power outlet in my center console while routing the wire our of the way with cable management clips. This QI charger is able to fast wireless charge my Samsung S22 Ultra through an Otterbox defender series case with no issues at all. The bottom “foot” of the mount that the phone sits on is adjustable up and down for wireless charging, with it adjusted up for smaller phones my S22 Ultra still fit in the mount perfectly fine but it did not start charging like it should so make sure to have that set up correctly for whatever size phone/case you have. The back of my phone does get a little hot from this charger compared to my usual Samsung wireless charging pad, I am hoping that does jot become an issue in the future. I am still a little skeptical about the auto open/close, it opens and closes flawlessly like it should and gets a really firm grip on my phone when closing on it. I actually think it is very cool but am not sure how the open/close mechanism will hold up say a year or 2 from now but only time will tell. Overall this is the best phone mount I’ve used so far and I think for convinience and comfort alone it is worth the price.
