I typically eat dried fish jerky as a snack when I am on the go. It is a convenient way to get a boost of protein and healthy fats. I also like to add it to salads and stir-fries to add a bit of flavor and crunch. This brand is nicely chewy, salty, and fishy in the right ways.

Nononono. So gross

The fish jerky has a fairly strong fish aroma. It is definitely on the hardish chewy side, and takes quite a bit of a bite to get into it. Cutting it into smaller pieces first helps this tremendously. Steaming it also helps. The fish jerky tastes good though and definitely a good source of protein.

This is a good source of protein. It’s dried and comes vacuum sealed so you can preserve it for a little while. No need to refrigerate. But warning, it does have a strong fishy smell to it.

This is very fishy, and very hard and chewy. I’ve never had fish jerky before trying this, so I have nothing to compare it to. My husband and I each had half of one of the seven large pieces of jerky. I thought it is okay, but it’s a little too fishy for my tastes, even though I like fish, and also enjoy trying exotic treats. My husband didn’t care too much for it. It does have a little amount of smokiness to it, but it’s not overly salty.
As mentioned before, one bag contains 7 large slices that are easy to separate. The “nutrition facts” states that a serving is the entire package at 870 calories – I don’t think so. My husband and I split one piece divided into eighths and that seemed like a full serving. The piece was not at all easy to slice with a good chef’s knife, because it is so hard. I was going to serve it on dill crackers, but the texture would be far too chewy, so I served it on the side. This would indeed make a good camping or backpacking snack.
The package is not resealable, so leftovers must be repackaged. I think this product would stay good for a long time in the freezer.
Overall this jerky seems to be very good quality, just the highly fishy flavor isn’t really our bag. We will continue to snack on this occasionally.
