First off, the product weight is actually in the picture of the can, not the headline. I thought for the price for 11 ounces, it would be something like the crispy garlic chili oil that’s so popular right now. This is not that. AND, it’s actually 4 lbs, 11 ounces. The can is huge. I was taken aback when the box arrived and it said “HEAVY” on it in big letters. I thought “less than a pound is heavy?” What’s inside is really the chili sauce/paste you find in restaurants. Not a lot of garlic flavor. However, for the price? It’s a ton of reasonably good chili sauce that you can use and add more garlic to your dish, etc. I froze about half of it in smaller containers and it’s supposed to stay fresh in the refrigerator for a month. I don’t think we’ll have much trouble eating half of it in a month.

I have to give this one star for the simple fact that, out of the six jars I paid for, three were unsealed. I opened one and didn’t feel resistance, so I checked the others and found two more of the lids would pop back up when pressed. As a percentage of failure , 50% isn’t good. That being said, if you get ones that are sealed properly, the product itself tastes great and is something we go through quite a lot of. Just be aware of quality control. These came in a shrink sealed flat, so the failure was certainly on the manufacturing end, not being re-sold as far as I can tell.

I tried this because it is now impossible to get Huy Fong chili garlic sauce. I find this sauce a bit saltier than Huy Fong, but it also has a fairly intense chili and garlic flavor. The extra salt really is not an issue because you just adjust the salt that would otherwise be added to the dish.

I lived in Taiwan for 12 years. This sauce is the real deal! I love it and after ordering it several times from Amazon in the jar sizes I saw this 4 & 1/2 pound can. If you love this sauce this is the way to go. You can use it on just about anything. Spicy and garlicky. I poured into smaller containers and it does freeze well.

Love this stuff! Hot enough to get your attention without blowing your head off, garlicky and salty. No “Chinese “ spice in it, so useful in other dishes . I like it on plain rice!

For years we’ve been using a product called “Chili paste with garlic”, made by Lan Chi. It’s been a staple for much of our spicy Chinese cuisine. Unfortunately, Lan Chi is gone.
This Lee Kum Kee is not bad, but our taste buds tell us it’s not the same. Can’t quite describe it, other than to say it has more of a tangy flavor than what we’ve come to enjoy.
We may be forced to use this from now on, and we’ll probably get used to it. But it’s no Lan Chi. Just saying.

Fast delivery and it’s so good! Definitely buying more!

Good but a little too heavy on the garlic. The similar product made by the Sriracha people is better.
