I was hesitant to try this product, I didn’t want my smoothies to taste sea-weedy.
When we received the product, my exuberant wife sprinkled some on out Brussels sprouts and some on on corn.
I hesitantly tried the sea vegetable covered Brussels sprout and said "Hey this tastes like Brussels sprouts!", then I tried the sea vegetable covered corn and said "Hey this tastes like corn!" I love that the sea vegetable only enhances the flavor of what I add it to. Now I add a tablespoon of it to my morning smoothie everyday.
I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to incorporate the healt benefits of sea vegetables to their diet!

Bought these a while ago. Know sea vegetables are good for you but…….was procrastinating due to what I perceived the taste to be. Finally put 2 teaspoons in my potato soup. It was really good. No…..REALLY GOOD. Tasted like a very light clam chowder with no clams. Not fishy tasting at all. Will be buying more and using these sea vegetables on more foods.

Since I tested allergic to kelp, dulse has been my iodine source in absence of eggs, dairy and grains in my diet. A iodine test confirmed I am getting proper amounts of iodine from daily consumption of dulse in soups.

This product is very gritty and sandy, apparently it has not been cleaned well before packaging. I tried it sprinkled over my salad and in nearly every bite I was spitting out grit/sand. Horrible. Also the initial taste is fine, but as you continue eating it, it just tastes like licking a rock on the beach. I’ll try making soup with it – at least I can let the sand/grit sink to the bottom and ladle off the soup on top of it. Unfortunately this item is not eligible for return, so if the soup option does not work, into the compost bin it goes and I am out $$$.
UPDATE (4/18/13): I tried the soup option, unfortunately the grit floats. The rest of this package went into the compost. I don’t know what to do with the other packs, I don’t feel good about giving them away since it’s so gritty. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I much prefer the Eden brand of seaweeds or Emerald Cove – very clean, great flavor.

It taste like a weird mix of bacon and dog food but in a good way lol. I could eat it straight (and sometimes I do) but I usually put it in my smoothie. It gives it a nice kick. I bought it to add to a toxic metal detox smoothie I’ve been trying over the last 4 months. My overall health has really improved and I would recommend!

Good quality dulse flakes. What can I say? Not my favorite taste, but so good for us that I find ways to mix them in here and there. Good in soups and salads. Recommended by Anthony William the Medical Medium, and I’ve found his advice to be the best on nutrition. Seems to be the best seaweed for health.

“Sea” foods, in this case as in “vegetables that come from the sea,” are a vital component of a wholesome, natural, macrobiotic diet. Main Coast Dulse Flakes provide one of nature’s power foods – seaweed – in an easy to use form. The flakes add great flavor to nearly every dish: whole grains, vegetables, legumes, seafood, eggs and more. They may be incorporated as an additive in just about any dish: add them to rice, grits, veggies, soups, salads, popcorn, etc, just as one would any vegetable used for flavoring — sprinkle in by the spoon for complimentary seasoning or mix in by the cup for use as a primary vegetable ingredient. We love and enjoy them — in lots of dishes made extra tasty by their inclusion. Happy eating!

I use a lot of this product so I buy it in packs of 5 bags at a time and it’s goes quickly. I’m following Anthony William Medical Medium for healing my thyroid. This is an integral part of my healing journey. Since I don’t use salt in anything, the salty taste of the dulce makes everything taste better. I love it! Smoothies, salads, soups–just about anything!

Adds great taste to food, plus healthy minerals and iodine, which supports the thyroid and is essential if you are limiting sodium intake.

The delivery box, even before opening smells like fish. I do not like sea food of any kind. I ordered this product for its health benefits. I am very grateful that I decided to include it in my smoothie with cilantro. The cilantro did wonders in dulling the taste and smell so that I could drink it and not gag. I now find that I don’t mind it so much. I would encourage you to experiment what you put it in to find what will work for you. You may surprise yourself too.
