I do not write many reviews, but this deserves one! My mom is from Hue; so, I grew up having scrumptious food and chili sauces. I will confirm this sauce is authentic and delicious!

I purchased this chili sauce because no MSG is added to it..I am allergic to MSG. This chili sauce has so much flavor! Not only does it deliver get a hot punch..but a medley of flavors! Absolutely delicious! I enjoy it immensely!

The anchovy taste is too strong. It works when I blend it half n half with another chili oil

As a chili oil, this isn’t the best because chili oil should be aromatic, which this is not, and it’s too thick for a oil.
As a chili past….like Gochujang, it’s better. The consistency is thicker. However, this one isn’t super spicy and doesn’t have as much body.
In this one, the chili flakes are the basis for the product. It is fairly spicy, oily and thick thanks to the flakes. The flavor goes in a szechuan direction. It doesn’t hold much body in the flavor direction, but if you’re trying to create a dish (like curry), which needs to be spiced up, I can imagine this would work very well.

This was rather disappointing for us.
It says chili oil but then also says sauce. Those are two very different things. I’m sure it has chili oil in it but it’s way too thick. It’s even too thick to be a sauce, really, it’s closer to a paste.
For all the red pepper you can see in it, it tastes dumbed down or “Americanized”. I was looking forward to a stronger flavor and heat.
This works better as an addition to other things, rather than it being the sole seasoning. Used in that way, we liked it 3 stars-ish worth.

Finally I found a chilli sauce that isn’t salty, garlicky, or sour! This is perfect for any noodles, or mix it with any other sauce. It won’t compromise the taste of other food!
