Monins Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate is great. It has a strong coffee flavor and only one carb, which was important for me. I use it to make coffee frappes. It works great because I don’t have to cool the coffee shots before I begin. It’s a little expensive and also took a while to arrive, but it’s worth it to me.

Got to use in milkshakes and although it tastes amazing, you do have to use 6-7 pumps to get a decent flavor. Just makes you have to use wayyy more and go through it faster so I do wish it was a little stronger for that reason. But I’ll probably buy again anyways because it did taste great!

An ounce and a half shot glass is the perfect amount; mix with milk of choice and too with creamer of choice if you like it a touch sweet.

Thought this was a great substitute to take on my vacation since my espresso machine had to stay at home. I mixed it with my regular caramel sauce and milk for iced lattes every morning and was pretty pleased with it. It is quite bitter, but a touch more caramel countered it no problem.

I love Monin anything and they are truly the best in flavor for syrups. I am a flavorist so I really know. The True Brewed Espresso is EXCELLENT if you are making other things with it – such as frappes, shakes or tending bar. It is bitter so I already knew to have sugar ready. Plus this allows people to use sugar free sweeteners and stay versatile. They DID add caffeine which was genius. Espresso has less caffeine usually than a cup of coffee-so you can get your buzz on. Plus I would MUCH rather buy bitter real espresso than be sold a bunch of sugar tasting espresso.
The preservative they selected, which is potassium sorbate, is not fine. It has a citrusy after taste.
I planned to use Monins Espresso on a cloud of sweetened milk froth on my boat-hoping to eliminate any need for a coffee or espresso maker on board. I really wanted this to work. The after taste was very citrusy to me, like lemon. Potassium sorbate is a salt, but can come from berries. So-Monin is very close but no cigar on this item as far as I am concerned.
For now I have to stick to Starbucks VIA little power packets for boating. That is two or three times more the price per serving so I hope Monin can re-work this flavor. Since I bought four bottles of this [trusting Monin brand that much] I will end up using them for parties and maybe even throw some in Vodka to flavor it to give as gifts. I think 50% vodka and 40% this and 10% cane sugar syrup and a shot of pure vanilla could make a great gifts.

We are BIG fans of Monin Sweetened Iced Coffee, so we thought we would try this Monin Unsweetened Cold Brew instead. Very dissatisfied. Unlike the iced coffee concentrate, which has a thick syrupy consistency, this is light and watery. One following the directions, the drink does not taste like cold brew but just like milk with a slight coffee aftertaste. in order to really taste the coffee you have to put three or four times the amount as directed, and then it is just bitter and has a chemical aftertaste. Shaken over ice and topped with cold foam and caramel syrup it tastes okay, but something that cost over $20 should not take so much doctoring up. In my opinion, it would definitely be cheaper, easier, and tastier to just buy cold brew concentrate from my local grocery store. If I could return this item I would, but sadly it is ineligible for returns.

The Monin flavored syrups are fantastic, but the quality of the cold brew is not good and definitely not worth the money. Make your own or get Starbucks cold brew concentrate.

I have been making my own coffee drinks for awhile and this adds that extra zip to any frozen coffee. I make my own coffee base 3/4 cup double strength coffee to 1 cup milk and 3 tbsp. sugar. I dissolve sugar in hot coffee and then once cool add milk. I chill it and when I go to make my frapp I use 12 ounces of coffee base two pumps espresso and 1 pump chocolate one pump peppermint, and just enough ice that it peaks out of liquid when pushed down. Fantastic stuff! Really makes it like the pricey coffee shops. I have a blendtec blender and it does the best for blending.
