I have been making jerky for years. It always comes out great but always takes time to cut, maranate, and clean. With this nesco jerky seasoning, everything is so easy. Cleaning the trays with the existing jerky was a nightmare. Not with these! The flavor is amazing and all my co workers loved them. I bought two more boxes. Deffinatly a must buy. Some people complain it’s too spicy but I think it’s just right. Tip: use a jerky gun to form strips or sticks. Enjoy!

The Original flavor is my favorite but the Hot and Spicy is great when you have to get rid of a few “extra” beers you have laying around. You will need them. Best seasoning I’ve tried. Will continue to buy and would recommend.

I love this because it’s not extremely hot but yet it has a very nice kick to it… I made some jerky with this and gave to some family and friends and they loved it and even asked me to make more.. now I gotta go buy more to make more jerky.

I read through almost two thirds of the reviews before making my purchase of the Hot and Spicy, and here’s my take on this variety. It truly does have some zip to it, which is just what I was looking for. I have a stuffer, and made mine into 19mm sticks. As for the saltiness of the finished product, I made two batches (1lb each) one containing a full pack of cure, and the other with half the packet of cure. Everyone agreed, hands down, the half pack of cure made the superior product with just the right amount of salt. Knowing how fast my family and friends eat the jerky, there zero concern for food borne illnesses. I made a three pound batch with three seasoning and 1.5 packet of cure, and it turned out great tasting jerky.

I had 3#s of burger I made from lean T-bone steaks.
I used my meat grinder to grind it.
I pressed out patties with a 16 oz bean can so they would all be the same size.
"pinch off a small bit of mixed burger & roll it in your palms to make nice neat meat balls"
I kept grease wiped off the patties as they dried to a leathery state.
& off the dehydrator top.
They got done in about 6 hours.
This time will vary with different machines.
I tried one while it was still hot.
It was fantastic. 🙂
So I ate 5 more.
They were all really easy to chew yet chewy.
Much better than store bought.
& cheaper. 🙂

I like it but it’s super spicy. For people who like it hot, here’s your jerky mix. A little too much for me. I mixed it with the sweet hardwood flavor and added brown sugar and it was still too hot for my taste.
