This coffee filtration system beats all my other ones out of the water. I had to return them all and decided to keep just this one. I don’t like my coffee too rich nor too watered down and this system provides just that. I’m now excited for my morning coffee every day! I would suggest getting the 12 oz size as I find that it fits most standard mugs, cups, and glasses. If you’re getting one for a big Stanley cup then size up. Growing up in Vietnam I used to see these coffee making systems all the time everywhere. Now owning one myself makes me feel connected to my heritage. If you like great tasting coffee, you won’t be disappointed with this set!

I love Vietnamese coffee and as someone who isn’t a coffee snob I can genuinely swear by this product! I’m even thinking of getting a bigger phin filter for when I want/need a larger coffee.

This phin coffee brewing “system” is excellent to use when you need only one pick me up. Also very compact for carrying with you.
Quality product, care with preparing for shipment, received without damages.

I am Vietnamese and I remember how my father made his coffee sometimes with something like this. I recall it has a screwed on inner filter that you screw on and off . This one is sorta like a plate you put on top with nothing holding it down but gravity. There’s a lot of coffee grounds floating on top of the filter by the end of it. The coffee turn out fine though, maybe a few grinds in it but it was to be expected. I am on the fence about returning it … I don’t want it to end up in the landfill.

I would wash the phin filter right after every use and hand dry it immediately after as well and yet within a month of use the inside of the cup, where it was perforated, began to rust, despite it being stainless steel. I returned it and got reimbursed.

This has been my first purchase of a phin and I really enjoyed this one, however the handle to the filter fell off in less than 2 months of purchasing. Maybe I got a bad one, but for the most part it did get the job done. Was easy to clean, easy to follow instructions, and compact – perfect for travel.

Easy to use and clean. Nice travel bag keeps it together.

I did not get to use this because it did not fit, but I’d like to share the measurements of the dripper part of the 24oz Phin.
The dripper part is angled slightly and shaped almost like a saucer, with holes where the “teacup” would go, and the brim or plate around. The basket sits securely inside the brim/plate, over the little holes of the dripper part. The bottom of the dripper measures 3 3/4 inches, where the top of the dripper measures 4 inches. So, more than 3 3/4 could arguably fit well enough, and 4 inches would be securely. I believe the diameter of the outer-to-outer brim edge is 6 inches.
•••So, the 24oz Phin would best fit a 4-6” diameter.•••
Woe to me, my pot’s diameter was just under 3 3/4, so I had to return. I might get a smaller one for single cups. The Phin itself felt very sturdy, like I’d have to really beat it up to dent or break it. The pieces are straightforward, and it came in a little drawstring bag in a cute blue box.
5 stars because everything was as described! See other reviews for function quality.

This little pour over coffee filter is excellent for camping. No filers to dispose and small to pack and clean.
