Philips Avent Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples’ unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby’s tummy. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby’s growth. Use Philips Avent Natural bottles only with Philips Avent Natural nipples. Includes: 4 Natural Response nipples, flow 5. SCY965/04 What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple It is totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed. We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby’s approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

All the bottles I was gifted had size 2+ nipples and my newborn would cough because of the flow. Bought these and he can actually enjoy his bottle now without choking!

As a parent of two young children, I’ve tried my fair share of baby bottles. But none have come close to matching the Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle Nipples in terms of their ability to mimic breastfeeding and provide a smooth transition for my babies.
Natural Response Nipple Design
The key to these nipples lies in their unique design, which closely resembles the shape and feel of a mother’s breast. This makes it easier for babies to latch onto and suckle, reducing nipple confusion and encouraging natural feeding patterns.
The nipples also feature a special aperture and tip that only releases milk when your baby actively swallows. This prevents milk from flowing too quickly, which can lead to choking or overfeeding. Instead, babies can control the pace of their feeding, just like they do when breastfeeding.
Ease of Use and Cleaning
The nipples are made of soft, flexible silicone that feels gentle against a baby’s delicate skin. They’re also easy to clean, either by hand or in the dishwasher.
Flow Rate Flexibility
The Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle Nipples come in a variety of flow rates to suit your baby’s age and feeding needs. For older babies who are more active feeders, the Flow 5 nipples provide a faster flow to keep up with their increasing demand.
Overall Impression
Overall, I’m incredibly impressed with the Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle Nipples. They’ve been a lifesaver when it comes to bottle-feeding my babies, and I highly recommend them to any parent looking for a natural and convenient way to feed their little one.

Tips for Using Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle Nipples
To ensure proper flow, make sure the nipple is aligned correctly with the bottle.
If the flow seems too slow, try gently squeezing the nipple while your baby is feeding.
If the flow seems too fast, try tilting the bottle at an angle.
Clean the nipples after each use to prevent bacteria growth.
I hope this review has been helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

This is horrible, why does no milk come out? We went from I guess the old version flow 2 tried to up to flow 3 for our baby and after about 5 mins I noticed no change in oz. He was able to finish 3oz in about 8 mins with flow 2 old version, the flow 3 took 20 mins! And to try and find the older version is not existence!! I’m so sad we just invested in the glass bottles and idk what to do if this is the new nipples because my baby isn’t barely getting anything!!! Super bad!!! Avent bring back the old design and fire whoever decided this new version is better because they obviously didn’t test it out on babies!!!
Update: we ordered the old style nipple for size 2 off of the avent website which was working great but started collapsing, we gave the size 3 new version a try again (at 4 months) and it actually went really well, he slowed down his feeding and the spit up is super minimal now because he takes a little longer to drink (about 10-15 minutes for 4/5oz of milk) I would recommend waiting till baby is a little older to try the size 3 ones and has a good latch/suction (signs like collapsing previous nipple)

These slo flow nipples are made so baby has to suck for it to flow meaning milk will not just trickle out on baby if they’re not sucking. I like that this helps pace the feeding so that baby has time to feel full and it helps that the flow requires work from the baby similar to nursing babe.

If there is one thing I hate more than washing bottles, it’s washing nipples. They are hard to make sure they are completely clean. I ordered extras to help my washings decrease and save my mental lol. Also Walmart doesn’t even sell size 1 nipples and my baby is breastfed. I needed a smaller nipple to help him not prefer the bottle over breast.

I recently wrote a review for the Philips Avent Natural bottles. For many reasons. this has become my favorite bottle system. My baby is very comfortable with these nipples, though I delayed using these until he was 8 weeks old because he had a lot of problems with gas and colic as a newborn, so I used the Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottles instead.
After reading more about these Natural bottles, I learned that they have an “anti-colic valve” in the nipple, which is just the little vent hole that the air escapes through. You can hear and see the air (bubbles) moving every time the baby sucks. Do I really think it’s as effective as the designated anti-colic bottle? Probably not. I do think my baby swallows significantly more air with these, which I believe has caused trapped air bubbles, which have resulted in a couple incidents of projectile vomiting since switching to these bottles. But we are just more likely to give him a good burp mid-feed. Other than that, he hasn’t been noticeably more gassy.
These natural flow nipples are definitely my favorite aspect of the Natural bottles. They are no-drip nipples, so they don’t flow unless the baby is sucking. This eliminates the need for paced bottle feeding, and you can feed the baby in more positions (but unlike the Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottles, these are not the best for upright feeding, because the nipple will not fill with milk/formula when you get down to the last ounce or so). Baby needs to be reclined to get every last drop. Otherwise, I am a fan of all that, since paced feeding is extra work and my baby would sometimes choke on MAM and Dr. Brown’s bottles regardless of the nipple flow.
Now I can’t stress this enough. Double check what flow level you should be using with Natural Flow nipples based on your baby’s age. Follow their cues, of course, to determine if you need to go up or down a flow level, but just be aware that Philips has a totally different flow rating scale between their different bottle systems. This is a major gripe of mine because it did cause me a week of frustration where my baby was not eating well when I transitioned to these bottles, and it took me way too long to figure out that the nipple flow level was the issue. Well, my baby was 9 weeks at the time and using a #2 Natural Flow nipple. I was coming from Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottles, where flow 2 nipples = 1m+. Well apparently, Natural Flow nipple #2 is only 0m+, so my baby was working way too hard to eat and getting tired/fussy at the bottle before even eating 2 oz. I have since upgraded him to the flow 3 nipples which are suitable for 1m+, and he is eating normally now.
Overall very pleased with my baby’s feeding experience since switching to these exclusively, but deducting one star for more air and confusing/inconsistent flow rating scale.

The Philips AVENT Natural Response Baby Bottle Nipples have been a game-changer for my baby’s feeding journey. As my little one has grown and started to require a faster milk flow, these nipples have provided the perfect solution. Designed for babies aged 1 month and older, the Philips AVENT Natural Response Nipples in Flow 3 are reliable, comfortable, and an excellent addition to the feeding routine.
One of the key features of these nipples is their natural response design. They closely resemble the shape and feel of a mother’s breast, making it easier for the baby to latch and transition between breastfeeding and bottle feeding. This helps maintain a natural feeding experience and reduces confusion for the baby.
The Flow 3 nipples are specifically designed for older infants who require a faster milk flow. As babies grow, their feeding needs change, and the increased flow provided by these nipples accommodates their developing feeding abilities. The faster flow rate ensures efficient feeding while still maintaining control and reducing the risk of choking.
Like all Philips AVENT products, these nipples are made from safe materials that are free from BPA. This provides peace of mind to parents, knowing that their baby is using a product that prioritizes safety and well-being. The nipples are also easy to clean and sterilize, making them a practical choice for busy parents.
The 4-pack set offers excellent value for money. Having multiple nipples on hand means you can rotate them, ensuring they remain clean and hygienic. This is particularly useful for longer outings or when you’re away from home. The nipples are compatible with Philips AVENT Natural baby bottles, making them a perfect fit for your existing bottle collection.
Overall, the Philips AVENT Natural Response Baby Bottle Nipples in Flow 3 are a must-have for parents with growing babies. Their natural response design, faster milk flow, and reliable quality make them an ideal choice for a smooth and comfortable feeding experience. I highly recommend the Philips AVENT Natural Response Baby Bottle Nipples for their effectiveness and the convenience they offer during your baby’s feeding journey.
Note: This review is based on my personal experience with the Philips AVENT Natural Response Baby Bottle Nipples and reflects my honest and unbiased opinion.

So these are actually a replacement for 4 nipples that got ruined during a dishwasher cycle recently. I love these bottles and my daughter does well with this flow, but when I went to take her bottle parts out of the dishwasher I discovered they had turned orange because I had also washed a container that had tomato product in it. Not sure if it is just the color or if anything else got absorbed so I am replacing them. Never seen this happen with other items in the dishwasher before, but since I haven’t allergy tested my daughter for tomato yet I felt it better safe than sorry. Otherwise really like the product.

I was skeptical about whether thickened milk would flow out of a flow 4 or 5. I ended up getting a flow 5 and it’s perfect for my baby who gets thickened feed. The whole is small but it looks like it’s a y shape so it worked well. I prefer these much better than leaky Dr. Browns. 💜
