I wasn’t fully aware that these rice sheets are meant to eat in a patty form so you should be aware of that. I was able to break the patties up with my fingers before cooking so they were more like traditional loose vermicelli. Otherwise, they cooked quickly and had a a nice taste and texture in my chicken noodle soup. However keep in mind that these are designed to be cooked and eaten as a patty which could also be nice if that is what you are looking for.

I bought this product, thinking it was a different type of noodle but when I received it I simply read how to prepare ban hoi and went from there. I preferred the steam method over the short boil or soak method and added teriyaki, garlic, egg, onion and protein. It was easy to roll due to the sheet form and yum! Easy and tasty.

These rice vermicelli noodle sheets end up tasting great, but you will need to find your cooking instructions somewhere other than the packaging. I soaked mine in hot water for a couple of minutes before adding them to soup at the last minute. I pulled the sheets apart because I needed them for soup, but if left as sheets they would make a great base for a couple of tablespoons of a cold salad or seafood mixture.

Premium Fine Rice Woven Vermicelli Noodle Sheet by SIMPLY FOOD (Banh Hoi) – Gluten Free, Non-GMO, 100% Natural
I’ve been going through a phase where I love eating vermicelli noodles with chicken and vegetables. It’s a good phase – this food is filling, delicious, and light. These specific noodles were good but not great. The package they come in is not well protected, fyi, so definitely don’t set things on top of the package.
Some pros – the taste. Good and tasty and can be prepared quickly. There are two different preparation methods listed and both lead to tasty noodles. The noodles are broken up into multiple sheets, which is nice – you don’t have to break up a giant sheet yourself.
Some negatives: I couldn’t really get these noodles to separate. I had to pretty much eat them as sheets instead of noodles. I normally ate them in a bowl instead of a broth so it’s possible they’ll break apart easier in a broth, but the noodles themselves look very thin so I doubt it.
Overall, I liked them – they’re not true “noodles” in that you can’t slurp them up like spaghetti, but they still taste good and are filling.

I initially got these sheets a little too soggy and they turned pasty. But once I figured out how to work with them these are pretty cool!. These are softened in hot water to be used as a kind.of lacy wrapper ,they are not a soup.noodle nor a egg roll wrapper but when stacked and rolled with some veggies and proteins
they made an interesting and flavorful snack

We tried hard to like this Premium Fine Rice Woven Vermicelli Noodle Sheet, especially since I have Celiac disease and can’t eat Gluten. Unfortunately, I found no way to prepare this Vermicelli Noodle Sheet that I could call marginally enjoyable. The flavorless mass had a sort of slimy texture that, while I did eat it, I cannot say that I enjoyed it. If you can handle the texture, perhaps you can add a savory sauce or something but when I tried that, the savory sauce could not overcome the texture and soft sponge consistency.

To try these out, I replaced the rice in my rice bowl with these rice vermicelli noodles.
The bag holds 17.6 ounces of rice noodles, vermicelli style.
To open the bag:
The noodles are in easy to manage sheets. Just drop them in boiling water. Shut off the water and let sit.
To make:
I filled a pot with water and brought to a boil. I turned off the water and placed a 1/3 of the package in the water. Covered and let sit. The directions say up to 2 minutes. They slipped my mind and stayed in the water for more like 7-10 minutes. I should have set the timer. I thought for sure I was going to have mush when I finally drained. This was not the case. The noodles were soft. They were a great texture. It was good to know that I could forget about them and they were not only edible but still a very nice texture. The noodles are thin. Thin more like angel hair pasta.
I stirred in a little coconut aminos. I topped with my veggies, tofu and a sauce. It made a delicious bowl for dinner.
Using a 1/3 of the package makes A LOT of rice noodles. I could have used 1/2 of a row and there would have still been enough for 2. Now I just have pre-made noodles for lunches. Still a really good deal.
Note:
The English is poorly written. There are misspellings and the English seems broken. I feel this needs noted but this does NOT affect the product at all.

I was initially taken aback by the fact these vermicelli noodles are packaged in sheets instead of as a single block, but the sheets make them convenient if youi don’t want to cook an entire package. Instead of boiling them, simply remove the pot of boiling water from the heat source, put the noodles in the water, let sit for 2 minutes, and drain. You could also pour boiling water over them — especially easy if you boil the water in the microwave. It couldn’t be quicker.

Delicate thin rice noodle sheets. For use in light dishes and appetizers. Cooks up quickly, easily. Do not let sit in broth or other liquid. It might work, but it isnt a soup noodle, and is really not priced for soup use. Try a different rice noodle for that. Nor is it a sticky noodle. This is a specially prepared rice noodle sheet for use in lightweight applications. The product picture includes a perfect depiction of how they are often used.
Add TO boiling water, let soften for 2 minutes, then drain and do a quick light rinse with cool water. Then take the intact sheets, and process with whatever flavorings you want. It is something that gets wrapped with something, or rolled and topped with a flavored oil & scallions, and/or is set next to a protein.
I found these easy to work with, and they were manageable, held up well, and I would buy these again. When you need a Bahn Hoi rice noodle, this is very good. If you just want rice noodles, then other styles are better. Bahn Hoi rice noodles are typically at a higher price point, so know what you are using this style for and buy accordiningly.
excellent quality, 5 stars
