Well, EASYFONE isn’t exactly accurate. I spent many hours trying to activate this phone. I had the miniscule nano sim card that is required, and it is just that: miniscule. Make that VERY miniscule? I must have dropped it 10 times. The instructions say to “insert it” and show a diagram of WHERE, but they don’t say HOW. To anyone who is as ignorant as I am about such things, please stick something sharp and thin down in that metal “pocket” where the nano card goes, and lift it slightly, or like me, you’ll struggle getting it inserted! I kept just laying it on top of that pocket, because it looked like that was where it went in the diagram. I’d put the back on and then discover that was WRONG. I defy you to remove that back 5 or 6 times like I had to, and have any thumbnails left. I finally wised up (?) and used a dull knife to slide in between the front and back to open it, and there were little pieces of the plastic all over the counter from cutting pieces when trying to prize it loose all those times.
The phone is NOT easy to use, once you get it activated, (activating it is another whole ballgame, btw. That was fun… NOT!) I’ve spent hours trying to discover just how to make a call and type a text on the thing. Still not sure how either of those is done. I will say, the sound seems to be good and even with my hearing aids, easily heard.
I use a p.c. and an iPad for hours every day, and have no problems with either. This phone is a very confusing, strange piece of technology, but I had to have it for certain tasks after my old cellphone became obsolete. It did everything, and never a problem till I couldn’t use it anymore.
Edit: I’m finally fed up with this NOT Easyfone, and am returning it. It wouldn’t make even a simple call without problems–like letting Walmart know I was there to pick up my grocery order. Simply refused. Final straw was when I placed a call to a friend, and she said I sounded like I was underwater–and so did SHE! Then a few seconds later, the phone cut out completely and she had to call me back on my landline. Maybe it was just this phone or perhaps me, but I can’t recommend this Easyfone. It’s a piece of very poor, outdated technology–and seems to be a lot like the old Blackberry. 🙁

This is a fairly initial review of the Easyfone A1 Prime. The charge cradle is good and charges up the phone well, but the cradle is light and the cord could have been somewhat longer. I like how perfectly it fits in the palm of my hand. It came with slots where you could put it on a lanyard. It does come with one but I have a feeling it won’t be long enough. Whenever I buy something, I try to find the PDF manual for it. It’s quite hard unless you pay for it online OR find it where it’s greatly stretched out. It’s quite hard to figure out how to do certain parts I caps. The EASIEST is to put your contacts in ALL caps or have one cap only with small letters forthcoming. Yes, it does have a hard copy of the manual but even that can’t help you figure it out. You can email them in INDIA. Oh yes, India. I myself will use it with a carrier I want as it’s unlocked. The infinitesimal wallpapers and choice of ringtones are limited. Lastly, you may be able to get online with it but I wouldn’t get it for that in case it doesn’t work. I kept trying to figure out how to use the phone, and I ran into problems trying to install the SIM card. The chosen carrier I chose sent me SIM cards, but based on the pictures in the manual weren’t true to how the compartment opened up for it to be loaded. I am sending it back. I had two types of SIM cards and neither seemingly worked.

The phone is marketed as suitable for “seniors,” presumably because the stereotype is that many of them have been reduced to being fumbling dolts. Of course, I dispute this broad brush generalization. With that I will say that the phone is easy to use and easy to read for anyone. It has a strong signal and very good reception of weak incoming signals. Fact is that I hate carrying a heavy, oversized so-called “smart phone around all day. The EasyPhone is light weight, attractive and compact, all of which are the reasons I like it. It’s one significant drawback is that it does not have a camera. But then I’m not Ansel Adams or Steven Spielberg, so I don’t make my livelihood shooting pictures. All in all, I like the phone and recommend it.

Got this to replace my 95-year-old dad’s old flip phone because it’s larger and easier for him to hold. I like the larger buttons, and everything works pretty much the same as his previous phone, but the volume control on the side is MUCH more sensitive than his old phone. When he’s holding the phone talking to someone, sometimes he accidentally turns the volume down and doesn’t know he’s done it. Later when someone calls, he doesn’t hear the ringer at all. I wish there was a way to lock the volume so this doesn’t happen. My husband is going to try to fashion something to cover those buttons, or maybe even glue them so they can’t be moved. because we like the phone but this is an irritating drawback.

with the lesson we learned from our Daughter giving her smart phone at age 13, resulting a teenager just straight out of control over the phone usage. We decided to give this phone to my son that just turned 13. just simple call and text function is really restricting his usage and only reach for the phone when he needs to call us. its perfect!

At first it seemed like a decent, easy to use phone, but it didn’t take look for it to show full bars but ‘Emergency calls only’. The provider can see and ping the phone, but the phone can’t be used. Tested with different SIM cards but with the same result. Also, there are several spelling mistakes in the OS. When it does work, the call quality was awful.
It’s a shame, because the phone is very easy to use for elderly people, such as my mother in law and the charging cradle is handy because you don’t have to fiddle with plugging in a cord. For such a simple phone, the battery life is also relatively short (less than two days with no usage). There was a second battery in the box, but as hard as it is to open the back cover, I can’t see my mother in law figuring that out. The bad part of that is also that when you remove the battery (or it dies), the phone loses settings like time and date, which it should get from the network anyway!
Needless to say, i’m sending it back and I would NOT recommend this phone.

It is NOT easy to find a phone that can make calls and text that is incapable of accessing the web in any way. This is one such phone.
I bought a Kyocera flip phone, but it had creepy firmware/ spyware terms you had to agree to for the device to function. Other basic phones often also come preloaded with its YouTube or Facebook apps that cannot be removed. Tricky!
I added a line to my phone plan, and my local AT&T store installed a SIM card for me, free of charge, and it connects to 4G. It’s like a candy bar phone from 1997. Feels like a toy in your hand, but the battery lasts a long time, and NO internet access of any kind. It’s not even capable of running apps.

This phone worked very well for my senior Mom. She was able to use most of the features, the really necessary ones. But I took care of everything else like ringtones and other things that she could not find in the menus. It wasn’t the phones fault it is a very nice phone.

I got this for my daughter as a first phone. Navigating through the menus is tedious at best. Text messages are several menu layers in, while a calendar and task list is prioritized with one click.
All these issues are a moot point since the mic stopped working after a few weeks of use.
Don’t waste your money.
