Overall these bags are great, sturdy, but there is a bit of leakage (very slight, not dripping) at the bottom from all the veggies and fruit we place in them.

NYC started recycling organics recently and they recommended a certain brand of compostable bag that happened to be sold at my local supermarket. I bought a box of 25 bags and was not thrilled with them immediately. They disintegrated in the small bin so that they would develop a gaping hole on the side and the organics would spill out when I took the bag out of the bin.
I was unhappy with them and came across the Primode bag and decided to give it a try. These bags last 3-4 days and I have not yet had any of the bags fall apart when I remove them from the bin. Another great feature is that when you open the Primode bag up it opens completely into a rectagular shape. I place a half a sheet of paper towel at the bottom to soak some of the moisture that forms, as some of the reviewers have recommended. The "other" bag that I originally bought is folded in half lengthwise and then sealed across the bottom so that the bag is pinched at the bottom when you open the bag. I think the intent is to reinforce the bottom to avoid it splitting but I think it puts stress on the sides causing them to tear.
These bags were shipped quickly and are more economical to use, especially when you don’t have to use a second bag like I had to do with the "other" bag. I will definitely order the Primode bags again once I finish the current box.

These 3 gal. compostable bags are perfect for small households recycling compostable materials. Where we live, in Brooklyn, NY, composable materials include meat as well as vegetable products. Bag work well with any type of compostable materials. There is some minor leakage when the bag is totally full but is totally acceptable for a truly compostable bag.

The city says I have to separate my compostables from recycling and other trash. I’ve been using compost bags in my little kitchen can and using bags so I wouldn’t have to wash the can as often. The B**bags I was using were kind of expensive but rarely leaked. The manufacturer changed them and they felt thinner – and they were more expensive ($6.20 for 25 count roll & @ $15 for the 100 count at Costco) and leaked all the time. I researched the Primode bags and they were about the thickest available. Reviews were very positive so I gave them a try.
Very impressed! I can feel they are a thicker, stronger bag and I’ve never had a leak. The price per bag is less than other bags. The B**bags 100 count came four small rolls to a box. I never could figure out a good way to store them – leave one roll out in the foil/plastic wrap drawer but it would get lost or leave the whole box in there and pull out a roll every time – it never felt convenient. These bags come in one big roll with the next one poking up (like a tissue box) and that works great! I’ve not had an issue with tearing them off the roll as some reviewers stated.
I’ve recommended them to folks and would definitely buy them again.

I use these to line our counter compost bin, for which they work great. Using liners prevents it from getting messy and makes it really easy to take the compost out, since I can cinch up the bag and leave the bin on the counter.
Compared to other compostable bags I’ve used, these are definitely MUCH stronger! Yes, if you leave your moist food in there for days on end, liquid will perfuse out the bottom (they are intended to break down, after all…), but I’ve never had one tear or break apart before tossing in the compost bin (unlike several other brands I’ve used).
The roll inside the cardboard dispenser makes grabbing a new bag extremely easy. I keep the box in my cupboard and just pull and rip a new one off as necessary. They are very strong in the short term (once again, they are meant to break down, so, not to be used for storage) and have loaded them up with heavy scooped kitty litter on numerous occasions without them giving way.
They don’t break down super quickly in a home compost bin, but this doesn’t seem to prevent the contents within the bag from doing so. Sometimes, I will have to pull little pieces of broken down bags out of “finished” compost, but it’s a small price to pay for making the composting process that much easier.

Used to hold compatible kitchen wastes. They are sturdy and the right size and hopefully not harmful to the environment.

I use these bags for my food scraps, that are now, supposed to be put in our green barrel for compost. The bags are very sturdy, I even put rinds from a whole watermelon in it & no rips! I use 1 bag per week, so they are pretty economical. I also like the size of the bags. I fold it over the sides of my round bin. As if fills, I lift the sides of the bag & it makes more room, or I fold over the sides onto the food scraps & open it when there’s more to put in. M
My only slightly negative comment is the sides sweat a little, maybe because I put wet coffee grounds in it. It’s not a big deal for me, because it’s so little dampness.

I bought these bags in 2017 and they were okay. Those leaked a lot and couldn’t handle a long time with food in them. Bought again in 2019, this time the 300 count. These bags were a lot more sturdy and didn’t leak as often. Then last year the bags started ripping constantly when I was trying to take them out of the roll. The top would split open, the bottom would split open when trying to get air in the bag to put in the trash container. I would have to get two or three bags until one would not split on the bottom. Now, all of them always split open. I am going to buy it again because they are great in the beginning, but after 3 years the humidity has made them unusable so I will look for a 100 count and buy them more often.

I like having Compostible Bags for table Scraps, Tissues. These are Small size about size of a bathroom Container. I have that size attached to inside of my Kitchen undersink Cabinet, so these Compostable bags are perfect size & place for my food scraps & food prep area. I just open cabinet door that has the attached small container that I had inserted to the inside door that holds multiple Compostable bags inside one another for my convenience. Easy to just toss Scraps in, then remove outer Compostable bag for Garbage day. Goes in the Green Yard Waste/Compostable Waste Bin.
