Sorry to say these smell awful. Can’t imagine putting anything eatable in them. Soaked in water which turned out pee yellow. Does not feel like cotton except for the drawstring.

I visit a lot of farmer’s markets and stands. These bags are great for shopping in places where bags aren’t an option. They’d be great even at a regular grocery store, but given that most produce now have stickers with barcodes, you still need to take everything out of the bags at most checkouts.
Realistically you could wash the produce through the bag and put it straight into the fridge, but I don’t do that personally as I don’t want the wet cloth sitting in the fridge.

These bags are so convenient, they are durable, large, but the variation in size is great, easy to use, beautiful to look at. Will be buying more.

These Reusable Produce Bags Grocery Washable – Set of 12 Cotton Mesh Produce Bags come in a cellophane bag. Even those these are marketed for produce usage, I’m using them for beach finds. I like the different sizes so I can use a large one for shells and medium or small one for sea glass. The mesh lets sand fall out, but keeps my treasures!
