Great price for this multipack of canned Crab meat. Used for a holiday Crab dip and added as additional meat to a seafood chowder. Very yummy.

If you want the most fancy crab meat that money can buy, then you should choose lump crab meat. If you want a good dependable economy crab meat, you may want this one. It is better than any cheap crab meat in my supermarket. I’ve had over 12 cans of it and never found a shell fragment. The meat is totally white and mild. I use it in soups, cheese bakes and dips, and it works just fine. This is a good dependable crab meat brand that absolutely doesn’t deserve the bad reviews it is getting from former buyers.

When I read the reviews for this product, I originally thought people were just being too picky, but I see now that I should have stayed away from this “crab meat” When it arrived, it was more like grated up crab mush with the taste having no resemblance to crab. It improved a bit when cooked, but it has SO MUCH shell grit in it that I can’t enjoy my meal. I bought this product to save money because the price compared to local supermarkets was great, but I now see I really REALLY got what I paid for. Cheap!

95% water in can when drained but I guess they are all that way. Other than that, very good granular crab meat for bisque. not lump.

ADVANTAGES: (1)Tastes moderately good just as it is. It doesn’t have shell fragments or other defects. The color is slightly pinkish in most areas and more moderately pinkish in other areas. This product is not high-grade lump crabmeat. This product is adequate-grade non-lump crabmeat. (2)Unlike those difficult-to-open 4-ounce cans of crabmeat sold by MW Polar brand, these 6-ounce cans sold by Consul brand can be opened conveniently using a can opener. DISADVANTAGES: (1)The quantity of crabmeat is very bad. After squeezing the opened can to drain the water away, the level of the crabmeat drops to below the halfway point in the altitude of the can. This means that the price for this product is actually a bad deal, not the excellent deal that others who have commented on this product have been fooled into thinking.

I ordered product and I was salivating right up to the day I received products…now I have 5 cans that I will probably give to my turtles. I opened the first can, and it was filled with water, the crabmeat is so shredded it is almost un-taste-able. It is horrible..
I am not an unkind person, and I try to look for the value in EVERYTHING; but this product is NOT worthy of Amazon !!!

I thought it would be in solid chunks but it was like stained water, which means that you couldn’t tell what it was since bits of crab was swimming in so much water. Won’t buy it again. Looking for another brand. But son Peter I’m am posting such negative comments I doubt if this will be posted.
