I am dismayed to see how many bad reviews this product has received. I received my order very quickly. The tomatoes are extremely good, fresh and nothing wrong with this order. I am hesitant to reorder because of the bad reviews. I’m wondering if the manufacturer even reads these bad reviews?

I don’t know where they source these specifically, but they should look for a new supplier. I thought buying in bulk from Roland would be good. Not really. A lot of the tomatoes have grit, and I mean disturbing amounts. Then I started sifting through them, which is a hassle because they’re very sticky and found a lot of bad parts, pieces, some mold, lots of stems, etc. The bad pieces seem to affect all the tomatoes a little flavorwise. Definitely not the best tasting sun dried tomatoes I’ve had. I won’t be buying this from Roland again. Their olives have been decent, but not these tomatoes. Disappointed.

I will not be purchasing these again. They have a bitter undertaste. Also, there were a number of tomatoes that were badly discoloured which I tossed. I will put them in my dehydrator to draw off some of the water and hopefully improve the flavor.
Update 9/7/23: I put about a pound of these in my dehydrator for an hour to draw off more moisture. The additional dehydration did make them dryer, more chewy, and slightly less bitter. If I do buy more sun dried tomatoes, it will be a different brand.

I love sun dried tomatoes to cook with and have not been able to find them reasonably priced in the stores. This is a great place to buy them. The tomatoes are a bit big and must be cut down for cooking, but at least you can have them when you want them. 5 pounds is quite a bit – would be nice to have about a 2.5 pound size instead.

Brilliant color, tangy taste, and a chewy texture that is just right. Roland Sun-dried tomatoes in the 5 lb bag have exceeded our expectations, especially for a dried tomato that is not packed in oil.
Other brands that we’ve had were hard as rocks, some aspired to at least be leathery. Some other brands have had a bizarre and unpleasant chemical flavor and unwanted smell. Not here – Roland Sundried tomatoes in the 5 lb bag are moist, flavorful, and opening the bag was an aromatic treat that made us think of our favorite pizzeria.
One note – it’s not a reclosable bag, and it’s rather hard to use 5 entire lbs of tomatoes at once. Re-bagging into ziplocs will be needed. Quite worth it for the price, tho. Good stuff.

The vacuum packaging was compromised. There was a strong smell when I opened the mailer. I opened the package to discern whether the odor actually came from the product or just the outside of the package. However, it was a stronger smell and I was afraid to use the tomatoes. They even looked bad. I tried to contact the seller via the contact form on their website and then a phone call. These cost $40 and I really wanted a refund. I was perfectly fine with a return and maybe even a replacement, but the seller wasn’t interested in customer service. I had to contact Amazon customer service and did then receive a full refund – tomatoes went out in the trash. Geez.

I’m only about half way through but will be buying this again for sure. great flavor and much cheaper than buying at the store. I only use about 2 tblspn worth each day in my egg breakfast, but it’s lasting just fine in the fridge

I’ve purchased this item twice. The first delivery was excellent in all respects. The sun-dried tomatoes looked and smelled great, and they tasted even better – I ate many of them straight from the bag. Unfortunately I re-ordered and the second shipment was awful. The tomatoes were over-dried, dark brown in color, and smelled burned. Worst of all they tasted horrible in everything I’ve tried to use them in so far. Honestly I think I’ll probably throw away the rest before I have to throw away any more dinners prepared with these. A huge disappointment after my initial impression, and due to the cost of a 5 lb. bag.

U have to have it in your kitchen , it is a party saver. you can do lot of surprises with it , we cook it or just add olive oil to it and you have a Meze with some oregano, add to the pizza ….taste is old days domates.

most fresh store-bought tomatoes are bad; these have actual tomato flavor, not an unworkable amount of salt, and nothing random added.
