Loaded with water, sodium tripolyphosphate which is half the weight. They do taste good after all the liquid is cooked out. I would only recommend if you’re desperate and you can’t find anything better without all the sodium and water. One pound and ends up being about 1/2 a pound by the time you cooked them and they are tender and juicy just don’t add any salt because there’s plenty of them.

I have bought these a few times and each time I have nothing to complain about. They arrive frozen and in perfect condition. I have yet to find a single bad scallop. I will definitely buy them again. I just had more come yesterday. I can’t believe the prices, I don’t know how they can be making a profit.
These are so handy to have, they work easily for many dishes or even cooked by themselves. Substitute them for clams in a chowder. Great in stir fry or in Chinese dumplings. For the value I can’t buy them at the local grocery store. These come individually flash frozen. When I buy them in town they are all clumped together and cost more. I highly recommend these.

Came frozen well and straight into my freezer. Thawed them today and cooked them in a small batch of gumbo. They flavored the entire dish with a very funky fishy flavor. Now I’m a professional cook and know what seafood should taste like so…..

I had a recipe for bay scallops, but could not find them anywhere. So I thought, let’s try Amazon. And there they were. They came in dry ice well packaged. They tasted great. I only used half in the recipe and kept the other half frozen in the freezer. Look forward to having them again.

These are the best bay scallops I’ve ever bought. They are much bigger than any others so they still are very large after the are cooked. The price is excellent too.

It’s been decades since I last had bay scallops; so I don’t know my surprise about them shrinking in cooking, is due to ignorance.
Even so, they were very tasty, somewhat like lobster; I will buy them again.
FYI they do very well in my ‘instant’ clam chowder, which I make as follows:
A handful or two of scallops, STILL FROZEN
One 10.5 oz can Polar baby clams, RESERVE LIQUID
Chopped cilantro green onion celery, about a handful of each
At least 2 tbsp of Jimmy’s Garlic Spread (it’s really a powder, here in Amazon)
Granulated onion, salt & pepper to taste. You won’t need much salt.
Half a cup powdered dry milk
Half a cup of powdered mashed potatoes.
In a saucepan, put in clam liquid & everything BUT the fish, milk & potatoes. Add about 2 cups of water, for a thick soup
Cook on low for about an hour, until the celery is soft & flavors blend.
Then add the fish, keep on low for 10-20 mins.
Add milk & potatoes; stir & let sit for about 5 minutes either on low, or turn off the heat.
Should make two to four servings
