I ordered these because I appreciate the idea of using recycled paper, however, these are the absolutely worst paper towels I’ve ever tried. They are not very absorbent, so you wind up using a lot more than you would with any other brand. And you feel like you are just moving water around. And they are rough.
I was trying to be environmentally friendly, but it is not good for the environment that I had to use three to four paper towels in the place of one.

I highly recommend this item to anyone concerned with the environment. I initially ordered them because of the number of paper towels we use in the care and cleaning of the snakes we raise. I love the fact that they are made using 100% recycled paper. The towels are also free of dyes, inks, fragrances and they are unbleached! These qualities are great for our snakes because reptiles are sensitive to bleach and dyes. Thanks to the “green” qualities of this product I feel that my reptiles are healthier as a result of my using them. These same qualities make them safer for use around children as well. I have also found that they are just as strong and hold up as well or better than the paper towels I formerly used in cleaning around the house. I will never go back to the name brand “pretty” paper towels. Function, safety and cost are the main criteria behind my purchases and these meet (and in some cases exceed) those concerns. Just give them a try, you will not regret it.

These paper towels at first sounded like a great idea, but I have found that they are not that absorbent. More paper towels are used for a clean-up job than what would have to be used on a standard Scott’s or Bounty towel. When these towels get wet they become very waterlogged and so their capacity to pick up spilled liquids is very limited.
I was initially intriqued by the thought of helping to spare the environment by using recycled paper towels, but the benefit is probably eliminated when more of the towels have to be used for the same job. Perhaps if this company made the towels in a higher ply this concern could be addressed.

I’ve been using these Seventh Generation Paper Towels for a couple of months now. They hold up well during household chores and everyday use. The rolls are fairly large, so they last a while. The paper towels do seem to be slightly smaller than the Basic paper towels I was using before, but they still get the job done. I like that these paper towels aren’t bleached and they are made from recycled products.
I will warn you though, If you like plush, super absorbent paper towels, these probably aren’t for you. These have about the same texture as recycled paper towels you are likely to find in a public restroom (maybe a little bit thicker) but it’s a similar feel. If you want that plushness from traditional paper towels, you should probably stick with them. If you are looking to be a little more eco-friendly, these are a good option for you.

This is the second time I have ordered SG paper towels on Amazon. The first time I ordered the white rolls, which tore off in tall narrow pieces and often didn’t tear on the perforations, leaving ragged edges and half pieces. REALLY annoying. This time I got the natural paper towels and am really happy with them! The sheets are larger (not quite as large as traditional towels) and they tear cleanly and easily. They’re pretty soft and they absorb well. I’ll buy these again for sure. Only thing I don’t like is they come individually wrapped in plastic, that’s why I removed a star. 🙁

I am SO happy with these paper towels…especially the fact that I can compost them! I use them to wrap produce in and then put them in green bags. I also fold a couple of them in half to put in the plastic clamshells that my organic greens come in. It helps keep the produce fresh for SO long. Once I use the produce, I just let the paper towels dry and then use them again to clean my countertops with a squirt of my all natural cleaner. I love knowing I’m making an impact on the environment, too, and have these on autoship. I guess the only downside, if you can call it that, is that the sheets are a little smaller than what you’re used to with your standard, bleached store brand. Also, since they are compostable, they’re not filled with rag or other “fillers” that make them more heavy duty…like a scrub cloth; but, I didn’t expect that. I think they’re a great product!

As far as I’m concerned, these are about the best paper towels you can buy! One reviewer noted that you get a lot of paper towels and they last a long time. In my opinion, that’s a huge plus. I think it is very convenient to have them shipped to your home and have them on hand. I NEVER run out of paper towels. As far as their intended purpose, I think they work wonderfully. No, they aren’t soft, fuzzy, quilted, bleached, or have colored designs on them; nor do they smell like anything artificial. I don’t think consumers realize how many chemicals go into a product like Bounty. If you use them to warm up food in the microwave, I think you are less likely to infuse your food with chemicals as with a mainstream product. With seven rescue dogs in the house, I use them for all sorts of nasty clean-up jobs and find them very adequate. I find they work well for cleaning mirrors and appliances as well. It makes me happy to have an alternative to what the rest of the world is using. I think different is good! If you really want to be environmentally minded, keep a stash of old bath towels, wash rags and hand towels on hand. Use them in place of the paper towels. I save the paper towels for finish work in cleaning and for clean-up jobs that are too nasty to put into my washing machine (yes, they do exist)! If you are chemically sensitive or have allergies, I would highly recommend you try this product!

I read quite thoroughly all the other reviews about this product and didn’t know whether I should go through with this purchase or not, but after switching to cloth towels for all my spills, I realized there is still a need for paper towels. (like when an animal has an accident of some sort…I don’t really like using our towels and washing those towels with the other laundry…) Needless to say, I wanted to at least have environmentally friendly paper towels & found these.
I received my product a day earlier than expect (yay!) And excitingly, my puppy made a mess for me to clean up right after they arrived. They held up just fine. Even when I wet the towels to scrub the carpet, the paper towel held together & no residue from the towels was left in the carpet.
I read other reviews where people say their towels never ripped right, well, maybe they have taken note of those complaints and changed the perforation because my towels are a perfectly even & easy tear each time.
My husband didn’t like the price ($2/roll), but for the effect this will have on the environment in the long run- it is worth it.
The plastic wrapping on each paper towel is LDPE #4 and can be recycled with your other plastic bags at your local grocery store; so that is a big plus, too! 🙂

It is quite less absorbent than regular paper towel. However, ist being environmentally friendly and chemical-free compansates for it. I do my own wipes for my toddler son using paper towel and a recipe for homemade wipes. These are not good for wipes, however, other than that they work ok.

Really like these, especially since they are recycled and NOT bleached. A paper towel is for throwing away — why do we care what color it is? They absorb well and tear pretty cleanly from the roll. However, they are a little harsh, so I wouldn’t use them for blowing my nose or anything delicate like that.
