My review is going to be short and simple.. Get a digital copy of Star Wars Squadrons if you can, it’ll save you money and shipping costs if you don’t have Prime. This product is truly amazing, almost have 10 hours into the game and loving it so far.

The game itself is great. Especially when paired with a HOTUS like the Thrustmaster One flight stick. I only purchased this to play in VR mode on either an Oculus Rift or Quest, which I have both.
The reviews on playing in Oculus are great, however be aware that if purchasing on Steam, it does not use the Oculus SDK, which has caused a number of issues as it runs through SteamVR.
I was within the Steam return period however because I purchased through Amazon and ‘retail activations cannot be refunded through steam’. Amazon’s policy is ‘We do not accept returns of Applications unless indicated otherwise on the Application detail page’ policy. So lesson is to not buy Steam games through Amazon as neither’s return policy is applicable, even when the game isn’t working as it should.
So while I give the game 5 stars, rating based on the issue with Steam not supporting the Oculus SDK and both their return policy. Great game, buy it on Steam (if not using w Oculus) or somewhere else.

The company supporting this Software called Steam has no support. After trying to get the program to work for several hours following directionswhich led no where, I gave up and requested support. It’s been 5 days still no email…I cannot believe Amazon support thus company

EA has been pulling some shady practices over the last several years and I have refused to buy an EA game Since Titanfall 2 on it’s release.(Also have refused to buy an Activision game even longer because of other issues). This said, non of those problems are here in this game and it has received a free update to it. The story is solid, not necessarily the best but solid enough that I enjoyed the characters and the voice actors did a magnificent job their parts. So much so I would love to see these characters return.
The game has ditched the old Xwing/Tie Fighter era game for more arcade type flying so it’s easier to pickup. I’m used to the older games and still play them from time to time and I do enjoy those more than this game. However, this game is well suited for those that don’t like longer and more detailed missions with a slightly slower pace.

Steam version has a lot of glitches, and you still have to have an EA account and have Origin running in the background to connect to all the features anyway. For keyboard users, don’t turn on your backlighting on the keyboard. Don’t use an external keyboard. And you have to disable “Display Overlay” in the Steam settings. (Also, use the first option to run the game, not the second one through Steam.) You may also need to find the actual *.exe file on your computer and turn a few things on in the display options for that file. It took me 2 hours to finally get it to work.

Visually impressive and a fun experience, however, lacks the complexity of the ‘90s Star Wars flights sims. Squadrons brings a fun and tightly-crafted experience, especially with the VR component. I highly recommend it for those who enjoyed the Star Wars X-Wing experience. However, the gameplay being no where near as deep or intricate as the classic ‘90s flight sim, I have to give this a four out of five due to the simplicity of the flight controls.
