I have been using these bags for my regular trash bags for years, and I can safely recommend them, with a few caveats.
Honestly, they are the most durable compostable bags I’ve found.
I know that the city garbage doesn’t compost, but the thought of putting even more plastic into the environment is not something I can live with, so I use these.
I have tried a few brands, and they all rip – or come out of the box ripped. These are always sturdy – relatively. Obviously, they are not as sturdy as a traditional plastic trash bag, of course, but for a compostable bag, they are very sturdy.
You have to be very careful about placing sharp objects (they have to be wrapped in a paper bag or something like that) or toothpicks, for example. Other than that, they work great.

We have this in our monthly subscription. Only garbage bags we’ve bought for a few years now.

These bags are mostly good for leaves.
Branches can makes holes in them rather easily.
They are larger but not stronger than most garbage bags.
I prefer paper garden bags to these.

So much better and stronger than any other compostable bags we’ve tried. We use this for our regular trash, which we only take out once a week, and it has never leaked or torn over the 7 days of use before taking it out, and doesn’t rip taking it out of the trash can like other bags have. We switched hoping that all the trash that we can’t put in our city compost or recycle, at least will have a chance of composting in the landfill by not being in a plastic bag, not to mention, not adding a plastic bag itself 🙂

The STOUT by Envision E3039E11 EcoSafe-6400 Compostable Bags have been a true game-changer in my quest for environmentally-friendly waste disposal solutions. I’m thrilled with their durability and performance, and here’s why:
**Superior Durability:** These compostable bags are a cut above the rest when it comes to durability. I’ve tried various brands before, and I’ve often faced issues with leaks and tears. However, the STOUT bags have proven to be incredibly robust and dependable at this size. The 1.10 mil thickness makes a noticeable difference, ensuring that I can confidently fill them up without worrying about potential leaks.
**Optimal Size for Larger Storage:** The 30″ x 39″ size is just perfect for larger indoor compost storage. They easily accommodate my compostable waste until collection day arrives. The generous 30-gallon capacity is a great match for my needs, and it’s a relief not to constantly change out bags due to overflow.
**Practicality for Indoor Use:** I find these bags to be a great solution for my indoor composting needs. They’re not only strong and leak-resistant but also convenient to tie up and transport when the time comes. I no longer have to contend with unpleasant odors or messes during the wait for collection.
In summary, the STOUT by Envision E3039E11 EcoSafe-6400 Compostable Bags have exceeded my expectations in every way. Their remarkable durability and leak resistance make them stand out among other brands I’ve tried. For those looking to simplify their composting process with a reliable and environmentally-conscious option, these bags are a fantastic choice. I highly recommend them for hassle-free and eco-friendly waste management.

These are much more sturdy than I expected! They’re also a little longer than most bags this size so there’s plenty of excess to grab to tie them closed. Definitely buying again!

I ordered two boxes of these from Warehouse Deals. One of the boxes had bags in good shape, relatively translucent and shiny, and just as resilient as BioBags. The other box had bags that were opaque and matte in appearance. When I tried to unfold one of those, it tore very easily. I saw that "Defective" had been written on the top of that box and realized that the second box must have been re-stocked in error after a return. I sent the defective box back and got a full refund. For the other box, we’ve used all the bags without a problem. It looks to me as if these bags are designed to self-destruct after a few months on the shelf, so just make sure you get bags that are "fresh" and use them in a timely manner. We’ve been very happy with the ones that worked.

I’ve found these bags to be the most durable. They are sturdy, they don’t “melt” nearly as easily as others do (but they will still “melt”) and they can hold a LOT. I have a multi compartment bin and while these are too big for a single container, I Iike it that way. This allows me to simply fold them over the top of the container and tie a knot outside the container to keep it in place. Then, there’s still plenty of bag to gather and make a single knot to close and carry. It’s a beautiful thing especially when I’m not using more plastic.

Excellent bags from a quality brand. Worth it. Strong. Durable.
I have used this eco friendly brand for about two years. Consistently good quality.
